About the apartment...
This sunny, cute and cozy one bedroom features rooftop views and garden exposure. Lovely hardwood floors, newly renovated kitchen and bath. Stylishly designed, modern and crisp, very clean and tidy. It's ideal for a couple or individual, as the Queen size bed sleeps two. The bed is a brand new Tuft& Needle mattress, and it is beyond comfortable. Clean sheets and luxury bath towels are provided. There's also shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and a blow dryer for your use. Wireless internet included. No gas cooking please, but there is a microwave, toaster, blender and hot water boiler for your use.

About the building...
Pre-War Townhouse-style walk-up building. The apartment is on the top floor but there are only 3 flights of carpeted stairs, and it's a very easy walk-up. You may not want to pack a giant piece of luggage unless you have a friend helping you. I myself have carried a 50-lb. bag down the stairs, but have help getting it back up after trips. There are only 7 neighbors, so the building is very quiet. There are two front doors to the building with a buzzer for entry. Although there is no doorman, it is very secure and safe.

About your host...
I am very hospitable and want to make sure you enjoy your stay. I am easily accessible even if I am away, so no worries about having questions for me. I am very responsive. The most important thing for me is to make sure you are comfortable!

Guests will have the full apartment to themselves.

Key pickup: I can arrange with you if I am not in town or have other obligations where I won't be able to meet you to let you in. We can arrange prior to your arrival.
I like to make sure guests are comfortable, so plan to hear from me upon check-in and text or email during your stay. I am accessible, so I would rather have a guest tell me they need something during their stay than say they didn't have it after they leave!

About the neighborhood...
Horatio Street is one of the most picturesque blocks in the West Village, steps from the best restaurants, the Meatpacking District, SoHo, TriBeCa and easily accessible (3 blocks walk) to 14th St Subway station (A,C,E,L) and 14th St. Subway Station (1, 2, 3). There is usually plenty of street parking in the neighborhood and there are also many parking garages available nearby.
Nearby restaurants: One block from Pastis, MPD, STK, Bagatelle, Standard Grill, Abe & Arthur's, Dos Caminos, Villa Pacri, Buddha Bar, Corsino, Soho House and more!
Fabulous shopping: Jeffrey, Park & Bond by Gilt, Apple Store, Sephora, Ports 1961, Theory, DVF, Scoop, Paige Denim, Earnest Sewn, Intermix, Tory Burch, Yigal Azrouel and more!
One block from Gansevoort Street entrance to the High Line!
Overall, a very safe and clean neighborhood that has everything to offer. Daytime strolls and shopping, and great nightlife.

The easiest way to get to my apartment from the airport (Newark, JFK or LGA) is to take a cab. From Newark, expect to pay $75, JFK $52, LGA $35 (excludes tip). I can provide directions vis Subway or cab when working out arrival details, just ask me!

All round great experience, Lauren was friendly and easy to communicate with both before and during my stay. The apartment is exactly as advertised and Lauren has put in thoughtful extra touches such as tea and coffee and even To-Go cups and lids. The kitchen and bathroom have all you need and the entrance and security are really easy to navigate. The area the apartment is in is full of shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops as well as being minutes walk from the subway. The Whitney and the High Line are also right there. Lauren also provided a guide of the local area with lots of great suggestions. It is a perfect hub for visiting New York as you can get anywhere quickly and easily. I highly recommend this apartment and Lauren as a host to anyone visiting the city.

It is easy to communicate with Lauren, and her description of the apartment is 100% accurate. She is a great host. The place is exceptionally clean and well organized. A big plus is that it is very quiet. The neighborhood is fantastic: everything you could ask for is right there, and at the same time this part of Horatio Street is attractive and serene.

Lauren's place is the perfect NYC place! After living in the city for nearly a decade, I can certainly appreciate the amazing location of this place. Easy to walk to the West Side Highway, Meatpacking district bars/restaurants, as well as the West Village and Chelsea. Communication with Lauren was easy, and I most certainly hope to stay there for my future visits to NYC!

Response from Lauren:
She is staying at my boyfriend's Airbnb instead and I canceled her request so she can rebook with him. All good!

Lauren User Profile

I'm a young working professional, originally from South Florida, where I grew up playing tennis and going to the beach. I also spent my summers at my family's Jersey Shore house. I love traveling and seeing the world, and have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to do so. My favorite place I have been so far is Ascona, Switzerland on Lago Maggiore. It's a beautiful little town on the Swiss/Italian border and has just the right amount of Italian "la dolce vita" paired with Swiss precision. I hope to go back to their annual Jazz Festival.

I have lived in the New York City area for 10 years now, so I am able to recommend places to visit during your stay and I think you will find my City Guide very helpful when getting to know the West Village neighborhood and its many shops and restaurants. Being in real estate and having worked on many projects on different neighborhoods, I know my way around the city very well and able to provide directions for you if you need help getting around.

I have rented out my apartment to members of the Airbnb community and have had nothing but great experiences. Feel free to read my reviews and ask questions.

My apartment is so cozy and comfortable and I think members of the Airbnb community will very much enjoy their stay. It is in the BEST location in NYC. It's very quiet and I wake up to birds singing every single morning! I am also very neat and clean and would love for my guests to be the same.

I travel quite often so feel free to let me know in advance if you are interested in the apartment for a future date.
