Check In
  • My boyfriend and I stayed in Sylvia's studio for 10 days and we had an amazing time! We got to experience the New Yorkers way of life and it was so convenient to be just 2 blocks from the subway. The apartment was tidy and cosy and Sylvia was very accommodating - any questions which I had during the stay she would respond so promptly and checking in every now and then also. Would highly recommend Sylvia's place to anyone going to NYC and would definitely stay there again!

  • My boyfriend and I had a great stay in Sylvia's studio. The location is perfect (really close to lots of attractions like Grand Central, MOMA and Central Park and about a 5 minute walk to a subway) and it was super quiet and cosy.

There are loads of cute restaurants near to the studio although I would avoid the Mexican just next door as the staff were very rude and food not amazing!

It was my first time using airbnb and Sylvia was so lovely, always messaging me back within literally minutes and very helpful in everyway.

It was really cold when we were in NYC and the studio was nice and warm at all times and the free cereal and tea/coffee etc was great for the occasional breakfast in.

We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone.

    Thanks again Sylvia!

  • Well-located and comfortable apartment! Sylvia was an excellent host - she was there to meet me, give recommendations and always at the end of an email. The breakfast diner on the corner was a treat...

  • If you are looking to live like a New Yorker, look no further!
I was sick of staying in hotels so decided to give Sylvia's place a go and I was really happy with everything.
Firstly, Sylvia was wonderful. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and checked in with me from time to time to make sure everything was going ok. She responded quickly when I had any questions and always had a solution.
The location is fantastic! You can literally walk to most of the major attractions of NYC (Time Square, MOMA, NY Library, Rockefeller Centre, Bryant Park, Bloomingdales, 5th Ave Shopping, Central Park etc etc). It's also convenient in terms of the subway and also getting cabs. There was never a time that I wanted one that I could not hail one from the front door of the building.
The apartment is spacious, bright and very well heated for the winter months.
Things to be aware of: as mentioned in the description, it is a 4 floor walk up. It didn't bother me at all, the only time I found it slightly challenging was with my luggage but it's only arriving and departing so it's not really a big deal in my eyes.
The kitchen is great for small convenient meals e.g. breakfast. Don't expect to be able to cook a roast there - but why would you when there are SO many amazing restaurants in the area.
All in all I would highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

  • I and my husband stayed in Sylvia's apartment for 10 nights: very nice location, very close to a lot of important attractions, subway and restaurants. The apartment is clean and tidy, confortable and full optional, even if it's quite old and it would need maintenance. We didn't meet Sylvia, cause she were out for holidays, but she was very helpful and present by mail.
We had a great experience in NYC!

  • My husband and I stayed at Sylvia's apartment whilst we were in NYC. The apartment was great; clean and tidy, located in a quieter area, in close proximity to some good restaurants and bars and an easy walk (5 min up the street) to the subway with access to major lines to take you to NYC main attractions and shopping, shopping, shopping!

As a host, Sylvia was always available and answered all of our questions before and during our stay very promptly. When we met Sylvia at the apartment we got to talking and Sylvia was so warm I felt like I was talking to an old friend!

This was our first time using airbnb and I must say that I was not disappointed. Would definitely recommend Sylvia as a host and the apartment to stay in for anyone looking to visit the concrete jungle!

  • Sylvia was an amazing host! We couldn't have asked for anything more. The apartment was fantastic, such a great location & it had everything you could want in it. Lots of bars & restaurants nearby but on a quiet side street. Sylvia was in constant touch before our arrival which was fantastic and the whole time we were there she was recommending restaurants and places to visit. I would definitely stay here on my next visit as the whole experience was brilliant made all the better by Sylvia!

I'm from Sydney, Australia. I moved to New York four years ago with my husband. I love eating, exercising, traveling and meeting new people. My favorite cities are Paris, Rome, Tokyo, Istanbul and of course New York :) I'm a guest as well as a host on airbnb. I have a studio apartment in the heart of Manhattan. I hope all my guests can enjoy my little place and experience everything New York has to offer. It's one of the most exciting cities in the world and I could not imagine myself anywhere else.
