Interaction with Guests
Depending on your arrival and departure times, I try and make an effort to meet and chat with all my guests.
Much like SoHo in New York and Le Marais in Paris, the Plateau has international renown as the neighbourhood with the most caché. Furthermore located in the southern end of the neighbourhood, you can easily get to Old Montreal, Downtown and the Mile End, three of the most interesting parts of the city to explore. Close to the action, all the while being in a quiet residential area. Truly the best of both worlds.
Getting around from my flat is incredibly easy. There are two metro stations located within a 5 minute walk, both of which are on two of the major lines. There are also two major bus axis within a two minute walk from the apartment. And lastly you have easy access to Montreal's communal bike service, Bixi, which allows you to borrow and return bikes all over the city.
If you are arriving with a car there is free street parking on the street in front of the apartment. Most guests who arrive by car park it upon their arrival and do not move it again until it is time to leave. This truly is a great location to explore the city.
Lastly, arriving from the airport is a breeze. You can use the '747' bus which brings you to the central bus station, a ten minute walk away. Or you can catch a cab with fixed downtown rates of $40 CDN.
Other Things to Note
A lot of love and energy went into creating this space. I had my future guests in mind when designing everything and hope that they appreciate the work that has gone in. The goal has been for people to come from all over the world and feel at home (and maybe even return).
Kindly remove your shoes, those floors are over a 120 years old.
Respect thy neighbour.
Don't do anything you wouldn't do in your place.
I absolutely loved this apartment. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautiful, and it's in a great neighborhood. Christopher was a great host, quick to respond to questions. Highly recommended.
We stayed at Christopher's apartment during the holidays and everything was great. The apartment was clean and in a perfect location. There is shopping nearby and it's a five minute walk to the train station which will get you anywhere in the city. Receiving and returning the keys was easy and Chris was always available through text for any questions or to offer extra information. We would recommend staying here for your trip to montreal!
Christopher's flat was fantastic. in fact it was much better than on the pictures. It was also very well equiped and extremely cosy. Felt home the second we walked in.
The apartment is even nicer than it appears in the pictures, it is as centrally located as can be if you're looking to be close to Montreal's bar/restaurant scene, the beds are extraordinarily comfortable, and, perhaps most importantly if you're looking to come in winter as we did, the bathroom floors are heated. Can't recommend Chris or his place enough.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Christopher's apartment in the Plateau. The location couldn't have been better and is very close to many great bars, restaurants, and shops. The apartment was very clean, with no shortage of amenities. We didn't have any problems with the wifi or TV. There is some noise transfer from your neighbours, but living in Toronto I am used to that and didn't mind it. You may want to consider it if you're a light sleeper, however. Christopher was very friendly and welcoming and took lots of time giving personal recommendations for things to do in the city. Would happily stay here again or check out one of his other apartments.
Absolutely gorgeous space; the pictures don't do it justice! The listing was on point and the neighborhood was amazing. We walked almost everywhere! Can't wait to go back.
What a great experience in Montréal! The flat is even more impressive in person; clean lines, divine use of light and lighting design, great finishes around the space... As a designer truly appreciated what Chris has done in the space, a mix of modern and rustic with a cool west coast feel. The space was clean and ready for us upon arrival. The kitchen and bathroom were stocked as well with great extras. The location is also an added plus, you are in the middle of everything, 15 minutes walks to museums, restaurants, and pubs. We did not have the pleasure of meeting our host since we got in later than expected but Chris was accommodating and helpful in his communications. Would stay there again - Salut
