Interaction with Guests
Depending on your arrival and departure times, I try and make an effort to meet and chat with all my guests.
Much like SoHo in New York and Le Marais in Paris, the Plateau has international renown as the neighbourhood with the most caché. Furthermore located in the southern end of the neighbourhood, you can easily get to Old Montreal, Downtown and the Mile End, three of the most interesting parts of the city to explore. Close to the action, all the while being in a quiet residential area. Truly the best of both worlds.
Getting around from my flat is incredibly easy. There are two metro stations located within a 5 minute walk, both of which are on two of the major lines. There are also two major bus axis within a two minute walk from the apartment. And lastly you have easy access to Montreal's communal bike service, Bixi, which allows you to borrow and return bikes all over the city.
If you are arriving with a car there is free street parking on the street in front of the apartment. Most guests who arrive by car park it upon their arrival and do not move it again until it is time to leave. This truly is a great location to explore the city.
Lastly, arriving from the airport is a breeze. You can use the '747' bus which brings you to the central bus station, a ten minute walk away. Or you can catch a cab with fixed downtown rates of $40 CDN.
Other Things to Note
A lot of love and energy went into creating this space. I had my future guests in mind when designing everything and hope that they appreciate the work that has gone in. The goal has been for people to come from all over the world and feel at home (and maybe even return).
Kindly remove your shoes, those floors are over a 120 years old.
Respect thy neighbour.
Don't do anything you wouldn't do in your place.
