I am a true renaissance man and Farmer with roots in hospitality going back to my first job as a teenager. Currently, I run an organic farm just outside of Boulder and have become dedicated to building a vibrant local agriculture community. I also maintain a sweet little urban garden right out in front of the house filled with herbs and veggies, plus with the bounty of the farm in the summer time ensures there are veggies galore for your cooking.
The renaissance part is that I am also a massage therapist and energy medicine practitioner. I use various modalities including deep tissue, trigger point, swedish massage and Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique to help with everything from aches and pains to sports injuries. I offers my services to guests at a discount during their stay with us, so please let me know if you would like to schedule a massage while you are here.
This is a great space to make you feel welcome for your stay of a few nights, weeks, or months.
Interaction with Guests
I am usually very busy during the farming season and not around very much, meaning that you have the house much to yourself. During the winter I am spending more time in my office and around the house cooking and enjoying some downtime.
Living this close to Downtown Boulder really allows me to live a walking and biking life. It is so nice to be able to walk to the Pearl Street Mall for dinner or a show. Plus once I am on my bike, I can go just about anywhere from the foothills to the College in just a few minutes.
The Main Boulder Bus terminal is only a few blocks away so getting around Boulder is quite easy, as are trips to Denver and the Airport.

Michael was a very accommodating host (even shared some freshly baked muffins for breakfast!). His apartment is very close to a favorite coffee shop of mine, The Laughing Goat, and many other great restaurants and cafes on Pearl Street. Very convenient location for those who prefer to explore by foot.
I spent a wonderful three weeks in Boulder and both house and host had much to do with it. Location was perfect and house was clean and comfortable. Most importantly to me, being in Michael's home was easy. Always felt welcome to hang out in the house or keep to myself, whatever I was up for at the time. As busy as he is, I appreciated the fact that he fact he always felt available in whatever way could be helpful. Michael is full of local knowledge and was a treat to get to know. The times we hung out will always stand out as highnotes of my visit and my experience of learning about Boulder.
I stayed here for a month. Michael knows the town well and is happy to help you out if he can. Great location. Great host.
Glad to have stayed with Michael who is warm and welcoming and his housemate who is a true gem. A water pipe in the crawlspace needed repair and Michael had us back in water in no time at all! Good price, comfortable bed & a GREAT location. Pick this place for a casual, low key easy environment!
Great location and easy going host. Although we didn't see Michael much, communication was great via email, txts, and post-it notes. Michael gave us tips on local restaurants and made us feel welcomed in his house. Parking was not an issue.
I had an enjoyable stay with Michael for 2 months in the summer. He is a warm, helpful and welcoming host. His home is conveniently located just a few blocks from the Pearl Street Mall and just a little further from the 29th Street Mall/Target/Whole Foods cluster (definitely walkable). I highly recommend staying with him if you are visiting Boulder.
Michael was a fantasticly warm and welcoming host. I would recommend staying with him. The house is very convenient to downtown Boulder, which is great.
I am a professional entrepreneur with a focus on Organic Food, Permaculture, Massage, and Watsu. I currently live in Boulder Colorado and have lived around Colorado for over 18 years. I am widely traveled having spent time in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, South and Central America. I am also a longtime Burner being involved in the local and national Burning Man communities.
Local food is a passion of mine that I fulfill by helping my neighborhood and my community become more self reliant in food production. After being deeply involved with the Transition movement, becoming a permaculture designer, I have built urban gardens and develop food production in and around Boulder.
Oh, one more thing, I am also a highly skilled massage and watsu therapist with a focus on energy medicine, a perfect fit for Boulder. Plus, mountain biking, snowboarding and yoga are my physical outlets.
