A bright wide duplex (65 mq), unique of its kind, located in the heart of the "Old Catalan Town", in a quiet street with no facing neighbours and view on one of the several old little squares and a giant figues tree.
The apartment is located on the third floor of a characteristic XV century fisherman house (no lift, 34 steep stairs only but not suitable for elderly people or anyone who struggles with stairs.) and it is composed of a main large room, a useful storeroom and a loft in the upper level where the double bedroom is found. Downstairs in the main area is the comfortable sofa bed with beech wood slats, which sleeps two more people. Towels and bed linen are provided.
The flat is equipped with air conditioning, heating, fan, TV, free wi-fi, radio, washing machine, oven, microwave oven, toaster, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, Hoover. The kitchen is fully equipped and opens up into the living area. The bathroom has window.
It is located at walking distance from the touristic harbour, the seaside and the catalan walk in the old fortress, the main shops and also all sorts of food shops, take away, pizza restaurants and the best restaurants in town and supermarkets. The location is ideal if you want to enjoy a stroll around and the "dolce vita"! If you look for a peaceful and authentic "sejour" this is the ideal place where to rest and organise your holidays. You can do without a car as the public transports nearby will take you to the main beaches, natural parks and other beautiful places like Bosa, Castelsardo, Stintino, Asinara isle. Nevertheless, bike and car rental is also available just round the corner and you can ask Ugo & Daniela if you need any assistance on this or for anything else.

My wife and I started our mini-honeymoon in Sardinia and our first station was Alghero in Daniela's gem in the heart of the historic old town.
I have travelled with Airbnb for quite some time now, and I have never had such an amazing host as Daniela. She picked us up at the parking lot near the marina (as cars are not allowed in the historic city centre) and brought us to the apartment to show us around.
And she had even a welcome bottle of wine and strawberries there for us (which actually was awesome after the flight and 2 hours of driving). She explained everything to us and gave us some restaurant recommendations in the area. We were equipped with the necessities to survive the mornings: fantastic espresso, black tea as well as basic spices and olive oil to cook.
Both Daniela and her husband Ugo were super responsive at all times - and made the trip probably one of our best travel experiences in a long time. They also catered us with the exact right balance of helpfulness and privacy. This goes yet again to show that Airbnb is just the superior experience over traveling in normal hotels.
We had the most beautiful apartment in the midst of historic Alghero surrounded by restaurants, cafes and the ocean. Thanks again for everything Daniela, my wife and I have put Alghero on the top of our visit-again-list.
If you want to stay at the core of medieval Alghero, there is possibly no better place to rest than at Daniela´s charming apartment. With 3rd-floor views at a small urban plaza/restaurant and the top of the Dome´s Campanile nearby above the adjacent roofs you get almost every comfort you´re looking for. We stayed for the Easter Week (phone number hidden) degrees Celsius outside) and thanks to AC-Heating the apartment was cosy warm all day. Our special advice: explore food-shopping at the Market-Halls (just 7 min. walking distance) and feel free to prepare your fresh meal in the fully equipped modern kitchen "at home". Don´t forget to enjoy the tasty menus in surrounding Trattorias and Restaurants for more variety. But for now nothing more to Alghero - you should already get to know the essentials in detailed quality-guides about this unique pearl of Sardegna. We got a warm welcome by Daniela and her daughter Veronica in person at the apartment. Communication is perfect: If you´re in need for something during your stay, you´ll get the answer/solution in short time by texting your question to Daniela´s/Veronica´s Cellphone. We felt like home for wonderful 7 days an nights. Transportation: keep in mind, that you´re in a pedestrian zone with time-limited access for cars (generally just for residents and delivery services). But only few minutes to go there is a big parking lot at the harbour - for free. Four Persons?: There is a quality pull-out-sofa in the living-room, that offers enough lateral space and comfort for an additional couple. Finally: Recommendation without any restriction. Thank you and all the best!
Daniela was a very welcoming hostess and did everything she could to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Every effort had been made to make the apartment thoughtfully equipped for an easy stay, and lots of information about the area was left in the house for easy reference (ie names of local supermarkets and info about buses, restaurants etc which was all v helpful). The neighbourhood is lovely (the very heart of the old town) - very much where anyone should want to stay when visiting. Can only recommend staying with Daniela :) ps - small point is that a local bar has live music that can be heard until fairly late when we were there, but it did not bother us (you can shut the windows and have the air con on a little if its too hot).
We had a lovely week in Daniela's apartment in Alghero. It's perfectly situated in the charming old town, it's neatly furnitured, well equipped, clean and very homelike. We also felt very welcomed by Daniela.
Thanks for a great week!
Doris & Jan
Thank you for your kind review. About stairs, in our description of the apartment is already clearly written that "stairs are not suitable for elderly people or anyone who struggles with stairs". About wi-fi, I’m sorry for the inconvenience but these things happen (no guest had any problem before) nevertheless, as you know, we did our best and spontaneously refunded to you the equal value of one day. You are always welcome. Best regards.
Fantastic location and apartment, great for restaurants and a 15 minute pleasant walk from the beach with bakery and shops nearby. Although.. Elderly people or anyone who struggles with stairs I would advise against this place as they are steep to get into the apartment. Host was lovely, even met us despite an injury and her daughter was friendly and showed us around. Great host and apartment in the perfect location.
With my husband Ugo who is a retired computer engineer, we moved from Milan to Alghero in 2008.
Since then we have been taking care of our olive grove and the production of our own extra virgin olive oil. I like arts and philosophy and we both practice Sahaja Yoga.
My saying is: "Change yourself if you want to change this world".
