The Suite Retreat is located in the countryside of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA on a gorgeous 20 acres in which you are able to roam. Unlike other rentals - this suite is nestled at the top of a hill, under a custom log home. The space is completely separate, so to experience seclusion in this rural oasis.
The master bedroom offers an extremely comfortable queen bed, lots of natural lighting, blackout shades when you want to sleep in, and a flat screen TV with DVD player. There is a cozy sitting area with love seat and chair. The large windows allow you to enjoy the beautiful views indoors. We also have a small movie and book collection to be enjoyed. The large bathroom comes with tiled walk-in shower. The suite is equipped with a kitchenette which has all of the essentials and more.
Going outdoors, there is a large patio to relax on and intake the views. There are many different seating options as well. Grill up a tasty meal on your private BBQ and wind-down the evenings by the fire-pit. Snuggle up in the hammock while soaking in the beauty all around you. Our primary views from the Suite Retreat are mountain and forest, as the property is very secluded from the public eye.
Nearby there is also Hagg Lake, which is a wonderful lake with boating, fishing, swimming, and additional outdoor activities - including a beautiful scenic drive. Conveniently located on Highway 47; there are over 20 plus wineries along this scenic route for you to enjoy, plus eateries, and intriguing activities. You will also be a quick drive to Highway 26 which gives you awesome access to get to the Oregon Coast or Portland for a day trip!
Enjoy off-street parking near the entrance of the suite. Internet is also available throughout the space. Please enjoy the privacy of the property and feel free to explore woods. Also, on the edge of the property there is a large covered arena with horses. Let me know if you're interested in scheduling a riding or roping lesson!
Interaction with Guests
I understand that every guests' stay is unique. Some will know the valley like the back of their hand, while others are visiting for the first time. Being a native to the valley, I am very familiar with the surrounding area. My experience as the Concierge at a local resort prepared me to advise and set you your winery tours, dinner reservations, transportation, etc. I would love to help make your stay as memorable as possible. Are you going to be celebrating a special occasion? Let me know! Would you like your favorite bottle of wine awaiting your arrival or maybe a delicious treat? Let me know! :)
I do highly recommend traveling with a vehicle while in the valley, yet I can help arrange airport, dinner, and winery transportation. The property offers secure off-street parking.

Very welcome visit. A fantastic location for a visit to Oregon wine country and Oregon's natural beauty. The place was perfect.
Megan and Anna did a wonderful job making us feel welcome when we arrived! While we didn't see them personally, there were a few touches around the place that we loved (I don't want to spoil what they are for future guests!)
The bed was super comfortable and the kitchenette was more than adequate for our needs. The full sized fridge was perfect to keep a 14" wedding cake in, and the counters were sufficient to work with. The air conditioning was fantastic and a must-have for the sweltering weekend we were in town.
As mentioned elsewhere, this is definitely a bit rural, and you'll need to go slow on the road to find the long driveway (which, in and of itself, once you think you've gone too far, keep going). We arrived for the first time in the daylight and are glad we did. Coming through Gaston, the horse ranch is a bit elevated so the sign is a bit hard to see until you're right on top of it. That said, once we found it, we loved everything about the place. Highly recommend to others!
Very nice, quiet, and clean private unit. We enjoyed our stay. Megan and Anna promptly responded to our emails and gave us great local recommendations for food and wineries. Thank you.
My husband & I chose the Portland area to celebrate our Anniversary and decided we wanted to stay further out of the city and enjoy some quiet R&R. It was our first time using Airbnb so we were somewhat apprehensive however, immediately upon reserving with Megan and Anna contacted us and they were so accommodating with every detail we could ever need about the Retreat, directions and access instructions, great suggestions on grocery stores on the way in, recommendation's to fantastic wineries (you must go to see Clare at Big Table Farm and Scott at Native Flora-best wine tasting experiences we have ever had!) and info on hiking and restaurants near by. Anna was a concierge at one point in her career and boy can you tell!
The suite was clean, had a comfy bed, wifi (no phone service-yay!) had all of the basics you will need to cook (note--there is not a stove but there is a gas grill with a side burner for pots) a fire pit to enjoy with a glass of good, local wine and a hammock to relax in especially in the morning with the fresh roasted coffee provided by Anna and Megan. The woman that lives above in the log house is so nice and she has the sweetest animals (but checked with us right away to make sure we were ok with them roaming before she let them out)--a mini pig, a goat, cat and the sweetest dogs!!
We visited Sauvie Island with our local friends in PDX, Tillamook State Forrest, drove to the coast (do it, it is so beautiful) and visited Cannon Beach & brought back oysters/clams/shrimp to grill at the suite, wine tasted at Native Flora & Big Table Farm (reservation required for both & we can't recommend enough) and also at Alexana (very pretty-no reservation needed). We had the best 3 days and we will definitely be back!! The suite was set far enough from the city but still central enough to go and do things! Thanks again for a perfect stay!
Meagan & Daniel - Thank you for the amazing review! This really captures the reason why we love the Wine Country Suite Retreat so much! I hope you don't mind if I share your review with Scott and Clare. I know they would love to know you had a blast at their wineries as well! Hope to host you both again. Cheers! Megan & Anna
Although we did not have an opportunity to meet, Megan was easily accessible by both phone and email when we needed extras, like a broom to clean up a broken wine glass. We especially loved the thoughtful treats and fresh cream for coffee that got our stay started right. We found the Retreat to be secluded, quiet and comfortable. It is also conveniently located to both the coast and Portland in a beautiful rural setting with interesting attractions nearby to explore. Prospective guests should note, however, that the suite does not contain a stove, although it does have a hotplate and a barbecue outside.
Megan made us feel super welcome for our weekend in wine country. She accommodated our toddler by providing a high chair and she even left us cookies.

Anna is a Southerner by birth and Oregonian by choice, Anna considers herself at home here in the beautiful Willamette Valley. After graduating, she decided to travel the country and venture outside of her hometown of Atlanta. A cross-country road trip brought her to the Pacific Northwest, and soon thereafter she decided to relocate to Portland. After settling in McMinnville, she developed a love for all things Pinot Noir and began her career in hospitality at the area's top restaurants, wine tasting rooms and hotel. As a newer resident to this multi-faceted region, Anna has spent the last few years establishing her knowledge of the area's world-class wineries, farm-to-table restaurants and charming towns firsthand. She is truly passionate about sharing this knowledge and looks forward to enthusiastically helping guests experience all that the Willamette Valley has to offer.
