The Space

We are a family who hosted English language students people doing internships and people just travelling around Ireland to see the sights for the last 7 years.

Your room is a twin room, (Size: 10.2m² /110.0 sqft). In the room you will find a TV, desk, internet access, mirror and a wardrobe, and you will have access to a shared bathroom.

We live 5 minutes from the train station on the North side of Dublin. It takes 10 minutes to get to the City Center.

It takes 10 minutes in a taxi from the Airport and we can arrange a pick up.
We have the internet and cable tv. The rooms are very clean and well kept.

We often host two- three people at a time, with some of them coming back to stay with us again.

Our home has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere about it.

Dublin has a vibrant nightlife and is reputedly one of Europe's most youthful cities, with an estimate of 50% of citizens being younger than 25. There are many places to eat an drink in the City Centre that we can recommend.

Our home is comfortable and welcoming and we'd love to have you stay with us.

Guest Access

You will have access to making tea & coffee in the kitchen and use of the shower/bathroom.

In the summer the garden is lovely

Interaction with Guests

John works from home and is always on hand to ask any questions. Our home is warm friendly and we're happy to have a chat over a cuppa tea with our guests.

The Neighborhood

We live near the beach and wonderful park, St Anne's that the Guinness family donated to the city.

If we fancy a spot of history there's Clontarf Castle a walk away and the beautiful Malahide Castle a bus journey.

When we want to get away from the hustle and bustle we have seaside village of Howth a ten minute trip on the train it's full of great fish restaurants and the famous seals who loved to be fed by everyone.

There's live Irish music in the local pubs and great night spot Wright's if you like loud music.

Getting around

It's so easy to get everywhere from where we're based. We live in between the two main bus corridors into the city and a 5 minute walk from the train station.

We're also on the right side of town to make getting to the airport a doddle. About ten minutes when there's no traffic and about 20 worse case senario with traffic.

  • Debbie, John and their family is the perfect host for my trip. They are all very friendly, genuine and helpful. The location is just 20 mins to city centre and it is in a very quiet area near a very nice huge park. They provide breakfast and dinner everyday and treat you as part of the family. They also have very friendly pets, Sally (lovely cat) and Molly (the most patient dog I have ever met) :)

I highly recommend this place for anyone who would stay in Dublin for more than a few days!!

  • Debbie and John live in quiet and nice place very close to Dublin.
if I'm ever will be studying in Dublin or will be traveling in Dublin again, I will stay at their house. They are really good and decent family. But the kids are grown up, do not buy toys for them for a gift :) They have good sence of humor, it was clean and cosy incide the house, dinner was very tasty! What else could we (travellers) wish for ?
    Thank you!
Я была первым, но думаю не последним путешественником из России, что останавливались у Дебби и Джона. Рекомендую их дом.

  • It was great to stay with Debbie and John! My friend, Cindy and I felt like home and causal to stay with them. The room is lovely and comfortable, additionally, we enjoyed the breakfast and home-cooked dinner! The location is also good to the city centre, it takes just about 10 minutes by train (DART). I would highly recommended anyone who wants to visit Dublin definitely stay here! Thank you, Debbie and John. We had a very fantastic St. Patrick's weekend! Best wishes for you all :)

  • My stay in Dublin with Debbie and John and their family was absolutely wonderful.
They were very generous, helpful, flexible and fun.
They had breakfast and dinner for their guests everyday. It was a nice social gathering. They were conscious and concerned about my comfort. I have food allergies and diet restrictments, but they happily worked with me so I could have my own gluten free meal. The home was clean an neat, all amenities provided and requests met.
So great to get to experience a family home in another country and to see how lovely they are.
I would highly and happily recommend this stay any time.

  • Debbie and John were phenomenal—really what every airbnb host should aspire to be. Upon arriving (a little late) they provided dinner, then offered a larger, separate room for a few nights because it was unoccupied. They really made me feel like part of the family and I always enjoyed chatting with them when I had the chance. Nothing ever felt forced and they were incredibly generous with their time and provisions. My week in Dublin was fantastic as a result. They even helped me out of multiple binds, organizing early morning transportation to the city and a last minute extra night stay. The location is perfect, buses and a DART station are nearby, and St. Anne's Park in the proximity for fantastic jogs. If I return to Dublin I know where I'm staying!

  • Debbie and John were really fantastic. They really made me feel like part of the family which is really nice when being so far away from home. The room was nice and private and made for a very nice place to come home to after a long day of walking around. They are really close to a Dart station and once you're on the train it's only about 10 minutes to the city center. If you have any questions Debbie and John will do their best to help you out. This was the best possible choice I could have made for my stay in Dublin and I would definitely choose them again.

  • Debbie and John were great, they made me feel very welcomed and provided me with everything that I needed for my stay in Dublin. Debbie arranged for a driver to pick me up front the airport, which is always very helpful when arriving in a new city. The room was nice and quiet and made me feel like I had my own space to come back to after a long day of exploring the city. Transportation into Dublin is very convenient as train station is about a five minute walk from the house and it only takes a few stops to arrive at the city center. I left feeling I had made a good choice for accommodations during my time in Dublin.
