We stayed at Mountain Hall and it is very unique. All 8 of us were very comfortable in this large house with a great hall room. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals. The bedrooms were small but filled our needs. Both bathrooms were very clean. Plenty of towels provided for the bathrooms and hot tub which got much use. The front porch was a great place to spend time lookingat God's nature. Deer, elk, rabbits, chipmunks and ground squirrels were all seen while we were there. They have the loudest hummingbirds I have ever seen. We missed the bear that came to visit twice. Jim was very responsive to all of my questions. We loved Estes Park and Rocky Mountain Park. We will be back.

This is a great cabin with an outstanding location 5 minutes from RMNP. It was very clean and has most everything needed for a week. But remember, the description is very accurate; it is rustic. If you need a gourmet kitchen an multiple bathrooms, or air conditioning, you will be disappointed. But sitting on the huge porch after a great long hike and a soak in the hot tub to us seemed perfect.

This cabin is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for something on the edge of rustic. You still have most of the comforts of home (cozy but full kitchen, full bath, lots of beds to choose from), but you get the cabin experience. There were mule deer doe within 30 yards of the cabin every day, and 2 yearling elk showed up to welcome us while we were in the hot tub the second night. The description is very accurate, and the value is excellent. Jim's driving directions are spot on as well. Our flight was delayed significantly by weather, so we didn't start the drive from Denver until after dark. We still found the cabin easily, even with sleep deprivation and no ambient light. We went into RMNP almost every day, and the location is perfect for doing that, as you don't have to go through town to get to the Beaver Meadows entrance. Quick tip: if you're going to the Bear Lake area, try to hit the park entrance by 8:00 or so; otherwise the Bear Lake lot will be full, and you'll have to take a shuttle bus. The shuttle situation still isn't too bad, but it's avoidable if you can get going by a reasonable hour (hit-and-miss with our two little ones). Access to Estes Park town center is also quick and easy. It's a 5-10 minute drive, depending on tourist traffic. As long as there's no snow on the ground, I'd have no problem driving any vehicle up the unpaved driveway. The owner was also very responsive to the couple minor concerns we had. Amazing park, great people, nice town, and perfect cabin. I'd do it again in a heart-beat.

This is an incredible, family-friendly cabin with great rustic charm. Wildlife comes right up near the front porch for spectacular viewing. The environment is secluded, but very centrally located to RMNP and downtown Estes Park. Will stay again.

Jim was wonderful! He sent great directions and when we had questions about anything he got back to us within a couple hours! We loved staying here this last weekend, and are already trying to figure out when we can all take vacation together again! We laughed, cooked, ate, played games and sat on the porch. You can hear everything that goes on in the cabin, great acoustics! I can't wait to come back with friends and bring my guitar, sit on the porch and relax! This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The cabin is beautiful, the atmosphere is wonderful, and we made memories that we will keep for a long long time!

Jim User ProfileJim is a superhost.

I and my wife, Cathy, love traveling and visiting destinations all over the world.
We found Estes Park, Colorado 28 years ago and visited almost every year, finally moving here in 2010.

Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park is about the most beautiful place we have ever found.

We strive to help our guests have the best vacation experience possible-and are available for questions, suggestions or whatever you may need. We have lots of advice on things to do, where to eat, places to see.

We enjoy hiking, camping, sports, and I hope to conquer all the peaks in RMNP before I'm done!
