Mountain Hall was built in 1902 by John Rosborough and a neighbor as a music hall. Rosborough was professor of music for many years. People would gather for conversation and performances.
Updated for comfort and usability, Mountain Hall still retains its unique charm. It features one-of-a-kind lighting and furnishings. The 40 ft front porch has views toward Long’s Peak, and lots of seating. Bedrooms are small but adequate. Bed 1 – king, Bed 2 – queen, bed 3 – twin, loft – 2 twins, living room – full sofa bed. One bath on the main floor. Second bath is in the basement with outside access. Charcoal grill. Three miles to Rocky Mountain National Park entrance.

Feel free to use the hot tub, but turn the heat back down to around 90 when you get out, turn off the jets, and make sure the top is secured.
When you leave:
Leave used towels and washrags in tub.
Put trash in the dumpster.
Turn off all lights and turn down heat.
I highly recommend Jim's cabin if you want to visit the park! It's surrounded by beautiful mountains and is super close to the amazing views on Bear Lake Drive. The cabin itself was great and we enjoyed many amazing meals at the huge dining table. The great room was by far my favorite space and we loved sitting around the fire. There was definitely more than enough space for our group of 5!
My friends and I had a great week at the cabin exploring the mountains and Rocky Mountain National Park. I appreciated being just a short drive from the park gate and the stores in town, but in an area where there's still a sense of privacy and nature. Our group made good use of the huge covered front porch, extra long dining table, and tremendous amount of space in the main room. We also took advantage of the hot tub and second-floor balcony. The place has character, and we were discovering new details throughout the trip. One practical example: the porch lights are controlled by rotary switches mounted overhead just inside the side door.
My friends and I had a great time staying in the Mountain Hall. The lodging was as described - large w/ 3 bedrooms plus two loft beds and several couches, to comfortably sleep everyone. Very close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park proper. Jim was responsive to my questions and provided good directions on how to get to the cabin and had an instruction booklet with activity ideas, checkout instructions, etc. Would definitely stay here again.
We went as a group of seven friends and had a great time here! The cabin looked exactly as in the picture and was HUGE. The location was super convenient as it was only 10 minutes to the downtown area, but also 5 minutes to the entrance of RMNP. The fireplace and hot tub were awesome perks. We were also pleasantly surprised by how good reception/data was here as some national parks have absolutely nothing in the neighboring towns.
Advice to others: Actually use the directions the owners give you--we thought we were smart using (website hidden) maps and it wasn't until we finally sat back and read their directions that we were able to find the place...oops
While because of Mother Nature, we did not end up staying, our hosts were very communicative throughout (complete refund as well.) When we get the chance again, I'll definitely be booking this cabin. Still looks amazing! Mother Nature won't stop us twice!!
My friends and I had a wonderful stay in Jim's cabin. It is even better than the pictures! We spent almost the entire trip hanging out on the huge porch enjoying the view (and the deer and hummingbirds!). The kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are super comfortable. It's only a short drive to great hiking and to the Estes town center. I would 100% recommend this cabin and definitely hope to return!
This cabin was great. Huge open living room, plenty of seating areas for our large group and amazing views from the huge front porch.
Only two drawbacks:
1. There is limited parking if you have a large group staying with you but we managed to just move vehicles around to make it work.
2. You are close to other cabins. From the pictures, it looked like we had quite a bit of space around us but there are three or four other cabins within earshot. We were all visiting for a wedding and there were noise concerns as far as being able to have a large group hanging out on the front porch.
Overall we had a wonderful trip and would definitely recommend the cabin for a family vacation - maybe not a wedding group.
We agree the Mountain Hall is a great cabin for a family vacation group of up to 9 people. Unique, really. We have 4 cabins spread over 4.5 acres on our mountainside, so the cabins are actually a little more spread out than most you find in Estes Park. Parking is limited- room for 2 cars at the cabin and extra parking a short walk away. The problems with parking and noise came as a result of an unauthorized party with many outside guests partying on the deck until 1am. If she had asked, we would have told her that there is not parking for large groups, and because we offer family vacation cabins, it is not rented as a party space. If you are looking for true Colorado cabin with plenty of space for your family to relax, can't beat the Mountain Hall.

I and my wife, Cathy, love traveling and visiting destinations all over the world.
We found Estes Park, Colorado 28 years ago and visited almost every year, finally moving here in 2010.
Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park is about the most beautiful place we have ever found.
We strive to help our guests have the best vacation experience possible-and are available for questions, suggestions or whatever you may need. We have lots of advice on things to do, where to eat, places to see.
We enjoy hiking, camping, sports, and I hope to conquer all the peaks in RMNP before I'm done!
