Our stay at the Mountain and River cabin was fine. The cabin is indeed a dated rustic decor, but was fun in any event. The kitchen is very large and very functional for 3-4 cooks to work together in. No outlets in the upstairs bathroom, but plenty of outlets throught the rest of the house. The upstairs master was VERY spacious and the bed, its all about the bed when I stay somewhere...it was quite comfortable, even after a couple of years of use. Our stay was rather warm, with the humidity up, so thank you for all the fans. We weren't daring enough to leave our windows open on the lower level at night, for the nearest neighbor came over early on and said he had a bear trying to get into his cabin through the window at 1pm in the afternoon, WHILE he was there... I don't understand the picture of the river; it was across the road and not accessible to us. That is a private complex that it ran through. Our favorite room was the living room with the big picture window and the long bench to sit and read, talk, coffee cup tipping... It was very quiet, even being next to the road leading to the YMCA facility!!
Everything was exactly as described. The directions were clear and helpful. It was a wonderful family time.
We had such an amazing time here!!
My Mom celebrated her 75th birthday with all of her children, grand children & great grandchildren!
Although we had 3 cabins, this was the favorite spot for all of us to spend time together!
We hope to stay here another year!

What a getaway! The cabin is clean and the bathrooms seem renovated. There is a nice river view from the large living room. There is also a nice patio area where you can hear the river flowing by. A large trash is located right next to the cabin for easy cleanup. A 5 minute WALK to horseback riding in the mountains, 10 minute DRIVE to "downtown" Estes Park made getting food and supplies easy.
The owners are friendly and responsive to an email and call I had prior to staying in the cabin. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance!
Misc info: I have Verizon wireless and had 4G LTE signal at the cabin.
We had an absosulely delightful time at Jim's cabin. It was roomy enough for three generations of family to live comfortably. It had everything we needed. The location couldn't be better between the action of Estes Park and the tranquillity of the RMNP. It was great to listen to that river at night. We would love to make a return trip!
We had a great time at Jim's cabin. He was accessible on the phone and was very kind, friendly and very helpful. The space was cozy and a great cabin. It's kind of a quirky design but it was unique. Great views, great fireplace, huge window. Thankful to have stayed here.
The cabin was fantastic and exactly as described. We received accurate and thorough information immediately after making the booking. Thank you for an exceptional experience for our corporate retreat!

About the Host, Jim
I and my wife, Cathy, love traveling and visiting destinations all over the world.
We found Estes Park, Colorado 28 years ago and visited almost every year, finally moving here in 2010.
Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park is about the most beautiful place we have ever found.
We strive to help our guests have the best vacation experience possible-and are available for questions, suggestions or whatever you may need. We have lots of advice on things to do, where to eat, places to see.
We enjoy hiking, camping, sports, and I hope to conquer all the peaks in RMNP before I'm done!
