Interaction with Guests
As much as is appropriate. We live here and would like our guests to feel at home with us.
There is a beach one mile away and lovely views and walks. At the other end of the village is an attractive playground, situated within a large park with animals enclosures, a museum and a café.
There are 6 golf courses within 5 minutes drive from the house, including the world famous 'The Island'.
Near our house is a late opening small supermarket/convenience shop, as well as a butchers, pharmacy, hairdressers and a gym with a cafè.
There is a bus stop by the house and a nearby train station and we have guest bicycles.
Other Things to Note
We have a nice garden and a patio area available to our guests. We have spare bicycles in case guests want to cycle to the nearby beach or park. We welcome everybody, young, old, white, yellow, black, red, gay, trans, Martian, Klingon, etc. Maybe not Romulans though...
No shoes in the house please (slippers available). No smoking in the house of course.

We had a very nice stay with Agnes, Nick and lovely Ivy. They lent us their bikes to cycle to the beach or explore Donabate. We had a nice breakfast in the morning and could use the kitchen to cook our dinner. They showed us around and spent some entertaining evenings with us. Nick even drove us to the train station as we were leaving.
Thank you for all the unforgettable moments. Now we will never cook our rice wrong again! ;)
Great stay! Awesome ppl! Perfect directions to everything. Loved it all no complaints and would love to stay in Donabate again!
Perfect , good family, clean room, good location, and... Lovely...
Nick and Agnes and their adorable daughter, Ivy were such a delight. They were kind and sweet and very welcoming. The directions were perfect and they were not at all frazzled when we had to keep changing our arrival time. They fed us breakfast and let us borrow their bikes for a very long day biking trip. Their house is just far enough outside Dublin city to make you feel completely peaceful and Portrane beach s quite a beautiful spectacle. Stay here and I promise you won't be disappointed.
I stayed for one week in the "Cosy Room" at the house of Agnes & Nick in Donabate and it was perfect. The room is small but I found it sufficient for one person. I appreciated the desk as a workspace and due to a fairly large window, the room was bright throughout the day.
The bathroom/toilet (shared) were immaculately clean and right next to the room. The two guest rooms are upstairs which means that one has enough privacy. The house and the neighbourhood were very quiet and as the room faces the garden, there was absolutely no street noise.
The train station is a 20 min walk and there is also a bus which I never used. Getting into Dublin was pretty fast (25 mins), you just have to check the train schedule to avoid missing it (Agnes provided me with a timetable) and a same day return ticket was Euros 6.40 for the train.
Great place to stay at in a quiet Irish country town for a few days!
