Two bedrooms, side by side, perfect for the families and groups that want to stay together but still have separate rooms! Just three blocks from the subway and 20 minutes to Times Square. I've lived here for 10 years and love the place, you will too!

The Space

Two bedrooms, each with a double bed, dresser, and closet. They're not exceptionally large, but plenty livable. **The listed price includes both rooms together.**

There is free wireless Internet. Sheets and towels are provided. Laundry, if you need it, is located in the building (but with an outside entrance).

I do live here full-time, but my room is at the other end of the apartment, giving you privacy. There are no other Airbnb guests.

Guest Access

You have full access to the kitchen, with a variety of coffee and tea drinks. The living room is also freely available - the TV has basic channels, Netflix, and a DVD/Blue-ray player.

Interaction with Guests

I, personally, am not the most outgoing person, so I will generally let you be. But I'm more than happy to help you with any questions about NYC. I live here full-time, so any problems are immediately taken care of.

The Neighborhood

The official neighborhood name is "Hamilton Heights" and is located in upper west Manhattan. It's an active residential neighborhood that is safe at all times, even late at night. A predominately Dominican neighborhood, you'll hear as much Spanish as English.

There are a growing number of places to eat, with the sit-down restaurants leaning to Dominican/Mexican. Like any good city neighborhood, you can find 95% of what you need within 2 or 3 blocks. The subway is located just three blocks away.

Getting around

A three block walk to the 1 subway train, followed by a 20 minute ride lands you in Times Square, with easy access to the entire west side of Manhattan - Lincoln Center, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the West Village, and the World Trade Center. From Times Square you can transfer to nearly every train in the system.

Other Things to Note

I'm in my early 30's, formerly an IT consultant turned theatrical stagehand, and have lived here for 10 years. I'm the only other person in the apartment. My room is at the opposite end of the apartment from your rooms, giving you privacy. We do share the living room, kitchen and bathroom.

Lastly, because of the extended length of stay, PLEASE have a completed Airbnb profile, with a real picture, verified IDs, (website hidden) link, etc. I need to know you're who you say you are!

  • Our stay by Michael was very pleasant. Michael is very nice quiet person, he spents most of time in his room so we had inough of privacy in his flat. Sharing bathroom wasn't a problem. Our rooms were very clean and well furnished with all you might need on journey ( hairdryer etc.). The location is 5 min from subway station and it is about 20 min downtown. The neighborhood is safe also in the evening, we never hadn't any worry coming home.
We would highly recommend Michael's place to others.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in N.Y.C. Michael was a very friendly host. After a very short time we felt at home. The flat was large, just 5 min from subway station and local supermarket. Very good public transport, very easy to get into the city.
Michael offered coffie, tea and cold beverages in the kitchen. We were permitted to use the oven and the fridge with our own groceries. There is no table in the kitchen, so we had breakfast in the living room. Our two bedrooms were quiet and big enough for 2 x 2 persons.
Michael was very helpful and gave us some good advice for our following trip to Pennsylvania. He even printed a map for us. We would definitively like to come back.

  • We stayed in NYC for 5 days and had chosen Michael because of very good recommendation, location and price. We have to say that everything was great. Michael is very nice and although we were enjoying NYC and coming home late, it was no problem for him. Everything was very clean, the location was good (15-20 minutes to Downtown) and finally the price was great. If we ever will come back to NYC, we will choose Michael´s again.

  • It was really great! We were a group of four, and felt very lucky to stay at Michael's place. He'(email hidden). It was very nice meeting him at the evening in the living room for a chat, but it was no problem to be on your own in the room. He was very respectful and kind. The apartment was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Plus, very clean, too. I can only recommend (email hidden)!

  • Michael was an awesome host! Though he was not home most of the time he provided us with the best service possible! Very clean apartment and in a safe and cool location in Harlem!
Take your chance and (email hidden) you won't regret it!

  • Michael (email hidden) who makes his guests feel comfortable and helps where he can. He was always timely in responding to any communication I sent him. The two bedrooms are large and quiet, beds are comfortable and the apartment is clean. The neighborhood is safe. There are a number of cafes (small menus done well and homemade desserts) and delis (salad bar and breakfast sandwiches made to order) within a two block range that offer a range of good food at very good prices. Apartment building has an elevator but nearby subway station does not so don't over-pack like I did.

  • A very pleasant host and apartment, the kitchen is convenient, the beds are very comfortable (but not appropriate for anyone over 6'2'' (190 cm)). It's at a very good slocation (about 20 minutes to Times Square on the 1 line). The neighborhood is quite OK, near convenient stores, McDonalds and more.
The host Michael is friendly, helpful and quiet. The apartment has all the necessities.
Overall a great stay, made our visit to NYC perfect!

  • I stayed at Michael's with my family, we were a group of 5 adults. He had already told us that it gets a little bit crowded with more than 4 people in the apartment, but we managed it pretty well! We really liked the apartment, it is well located, close to the metro station, to a good grocery store, and we never had any problem geting home late. I truly recommend Michael's place!

I'm in my mid-thirties and have lived in this apartment for over 10 years (that's a long time, by NYC standards!). I became an AirBnB host after losing my job, and have now been hosting for 2 1/2 years while in school for a career change. It's been great meeting everyone on here! I used to work as an IT consultant for a small company, specializing in network and server administration. Now, I'm studying to work in entertainment technology (think Broadway, concerts, etc). For fun I enjoy hiking, camping, playing casual league sports (flag football, soccer, kickball, etc). And of course the huge variety of events in NYC.
