A three block walk to the 1 subway train, followed by a 20 minute ride lands you in Times Square, with easy access to the entire west side of Manhattan - Lincoln Center, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the West Village, and the World Trade Center. From Times Square you can transfer to nearly every train in the system.
Two bedrooms, each with a double bed, dresser, and closet. They're not large, but plenty livable. Additionally I have a twin air mattress available that fits on the floor in the second bedroom (though it does make that room crowded). The listed price includes both rooms together.
You have full access to the kitchen (with a variety of Keurig coffee and tea drinks). The living room is also freely available - the TV has basic channels, Netflix, and a DVD/Blue-ray player.
There is free wireless Internet. Sheets and towels are provided. Laundry, if you need it, is located in the building (but with an outside entrance).
The official neighborhood name is "Hamilton Heights" and is located in upper west Manhattan. It's an active residential neighborhood that is safe at all times, even late at night. A predominately Dominican neighborhood, you'll hear as much Spanish as English.
There's a growing number of places to eat, with the sit-down restaurants leaning to Dominican/Mexican. Like any good city neighborhood, you can find 95% of what you need within 2 or 3 blocks. The subway is located just three blocks away.
I'm in my early 30's, formerly an IT consultant turned theatrical stagehand, and have lived here for nine years. I'm the only other person in the apartment. My room is at the opposite end of the apartment from your rooms, giving you privacy. We do share the living room, kitchen and bathroom.
I, personally, am not the most outgoing person, so I will generally let you be. But I'm more than happy to help you with any questions about NYC. I spend much of my time in my bedroom/home office working on a new startup business.
When and How Much
On the upper-right side of the screen, just above the picture of my pretty face, you'll see a spot to fill in the dates and number of people. This will tell you if the apartment is available and how much it will cost. If it says the dates are available, I generally will accept your reservation.
Michael was an awesome host! Though he was not home most of the time he provided us with the best service possible! Very clean apartment and in a safe and cool location in Harlem!
Take your chance and stay at his place you won't regret it!
Well , my stay @ Michael ´s were quite pleasant, a discrete person , a calm neighborhood , peaceful building, un bon rapport qualité prix, rooms were ok , in a nutshell ,a smooth stay.
Michael is a great host who makes his guests feel comfortable and helps where he can. He was always timely in responding to any communication I sent him. The two bedrooms are large and quiet, beds are comfortable and the apartment is clean. The neighborhood is safe. There are a number of cafes (small menus done well and homemade desserts) and delis (salad bar and breakfast sandwiches made to order) within a two block range that offer a range of good food at very good prices. Apartment building has an elevator but nearby subway station does not so don't over-pack like I did.
A very pleasant host and apartment, the kitchen is convenient, the beds are very comfortable (but not appropriate for anyone over 6'2'' (190 cm)). It's at a very good slocation (about 20 minutes to Times Square on the 1 line). The neighborhood is quite OK, near convenient stores, McDonalds and more.
The host Michael is friendly, helpful and quiet. The apartment has all the necessities.
Overall a great stay, made our visit to NYC perfect!
I stayed at Michael's with my family, we were a group of 5 adults. He had already told us that it gets a little bit crowded with more than 4 people in the apartment, but we managed it pretty well! We really liked the apartment, it is well located, close to the metro station, to a good grocery store, and we never had any problem geting home late. I truly recommend Michael's place!
Her is a nice and convent place to visit New York. And Michael also pretty nice.
Great place at a very good price! Apartment is nice and clean. We used both rooms and everything worked out well. No problems at all, great place if you're out in the city and need a place to sleep. Highly recommended!
