Private room on houseboat in center!
As I have two extra rooms I would love for others to have the option for a nice and cheap stay in Amsterdam. the room is on a lovely houseboat in the center of Amsterdam, a very typical dutch thing to do; living on a boat!
In the centre of Amsterdam, in the museum quarter, you will find Michele’s Houseboat. A brand new houseboat moored at the Ruysdaelkade, where you can experience Amsterdam in a unique way: living on the water. The houseboat is divided into three apartments, one large one where I live myself with my boyfriend Nils, and two smaller apartments where you can enjoy your holidays or business trip in Amsterdam! Each of the apartments has their own private entrance, en-suite bathroom, and a large double bed that can be made up for either a couple or two singles. All guests have access to the large roof terrace where one can eat, drink, laugh, bbq or tan! You could book both of the apartments together or one apartment just let me know what you prefer!
Both rooms are furnished in a way you can truly take a break while on your holiday in tranquility. Nevertheless, the rooms provide you with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Comfortable beds, en-suite bathroom featuring a rain shower (linen and towels are provided), desk, fridge, coffee and tea, and everything you need for basic cooking possibilities. Moreover, there is free (fast) WiFi, you can make use of the roof terrace, and discount on museum tickets like the Anne Frank house, Rijksmuseum, and Van Gogh museum as well as on bike rental is available to you!
Also: Free Wi-Fi!
The houseboat is moored in ‘De Pijp’, which is one of the liveliest neighborhoods: full of bars, restaurants, markets and more! Moreover, its only 5 min walking from museum square! Public transport possibilities to all areas of Amsterdam are within 5min walking distance of the boat. With only 30min to the airport and 15min from Amsterdam Central Station the houseboats location is perfect to experience Amsterdam as a local but with all tourist attractions in reach. In the direct surrounding you will find:
- overwhelming amount of good restaurants, bars, movie theater.
- famous flee market called ‘Albert Kuyp’
- museum square is on walking distance! (Van Gogh- / Rijks- / Stedelijk- museum)

Nice boat on a canal . Michel was at our arrived and explained How to park the car in a parking wich give some big reduction for the local transports. When we came in the evenning the Light along the canal and the boat was so romantic. The second day, she explain to us some places to have breakfast. I recommend the house boat of Michèle
Michele's houseboat was great! The houseboat was clean and fairly centrally located. Super comfortable beds!! Michele was very helpful and even called us a taxi back to the airport. It was perfect for a weekend trip to Amsterdam.
This was the best stay I had in Amsterdam. The houseboat is very cozy, with a great view in a very friendly neighbourhood. Thank you for having us!
Une hôte très acceuillante, souriante et à l'écoute. Des réponses rapides et claires de sa part. Le logement ressemblait exactement à la photo, le cadre était super, aucune déception de ce côté !
Michèle was a great host and very accommodating to our late flight out the day we left. The houseboat flat is unique, nice quality, and maintained very well. The kitchen is also stocked with everything you'd need if you're picking up your own food from the store. Dankuwel Michèle!
Michele was great.
She met us at the houseboat to show us the unit, which is small but very cozy. It's in an excellent location, close to restaurants, bars and museums. Also, there is a tram only one block away to take you to other parts of the city center.
They are also working on finishing the roof deck, which will be awesome for enjoying the scenery of the neighborhood (as well as great people=watching)!
She was also very accommodating with the check-out time, as we had to leave earlier than expected to fly back to the States. She even called us a cab to take us to the airport!
Highly recommended. I would stay again next time we're in Amsterdam!
Great little room on the houseboat! Loved being able to sleep with the windows open and see the other boats go by. It is easily accessible to all parts of the city but definitely in a much quieter calm part of town if that's what you are looking for. If you want the excitement and people watching of a busy area, then maybe stay closer to more populated area. But this gives you a nice walk to a more local area. Very close to grocery stores, markets, cafés and restaurants. Small but all you need since you probably won't spend much time in here during the day. Unfortunately the rooftop terrace was not finished for our stay which would make it much better especially I you want to make a meal at home. Also the wifi was a bit slow and didn't work very well but Michele said this is usually not the case. All in all a great place to stay and would recommend it!
Danke vell Michele!
