Interaction with Guests
Portmagee Seaside Cottages is a family run business. The family is made up of Elizabeth and Francie and our children Paul (studying Engineering in Galway), Aisling (living and working in Australia) and Roisin (living and working in Luxembourg). We also have a farm with pedigree Charolais cows and ducks (which occasionally lay eggs which we are happy to share!). We have good local knowledge of all that is going on, we can recommend nice places to visit and know all the local boat and activity operators. In our spare time (which can be limited!) we are avid walkers. We would be happy to advise our guests on walking routes in the locality and time permitting might also be available to lead our guests on a walk.
Our cottages and farmhouses are located on the world famous Wild Atlantic Way! We are only 4 kilometers from Bray Head which is 1 of 15 signature discovery points on the entire 2,500 kilometer route which goes from Donegal to Cork. There are also numerous discovery points in the locality; we recommend that people download the Wild Atlantic Way app for further information.
Our properties are located just 3 kilometers from the charming fishing village of Portmagee. Portmagee is located in the South West of Ireland in the beautiful county of Kerry. Old Stones Cottage is on its own large site which sweeps down to the sea. We have two moorings in case you wish to bring your boat!
A car is recommended to get around as there is no public transport available in Portmagee.

We had a fabulous time at the old stone cottages, perfect location for exploring the stunning Kerry coastline. The cottage was really comfortable and the design and location really adds to the overall holiday experience hope to be back in the near future.
The old stone cottage is a really nice and cozy place. We haven't expanded such an beautifully place. The house stands quiet and lonely, with a perfect few at the sea and Valencia island.
The house is equipped with everything you need.
Elizabeth is a nice and friendly person. She answered quickly and provided us with a lot of helpful informations about the house and the surrounding.
We will definitely recommend the house to our friends and family.
Best House we stayed at the whole Wild Atlantic Way! The House is beautyful and cozy. The livingroom is just stunning. All the Stone and wooden interieur is warm, chic and loveley. You can just sit there by turf fire and enjoy the sight out of the Windows. You can see the sea and Valentia Island from almost every room. You wont find stress here.
Portmagee, valentia island and cahersheveen are a perfect triple of relaxation, nice walks, good fish and everything you need.
Thank you Elizabeth for your help and uncomplicated communication. We would definateley come back.
Elizabeth made us feel very welcome. She stopped in and we had a very nice visit and she answered all our questions about the area. We loved the cottage and the whole region. Even on our rainy day we had a good time and enjoyed coming home and drying off in front of the peat fire.
