The apartment is in the heart of the Lower East side without all the noise as you are 8 flights of the street. The area has tons of new 5 star restuarants and cheap eats for everyone to enjoy. I have have many recommendations for the area, which I am happy to share.
The area boosts the best live music in the manhattan, which multiple places to take in a great show any night of the week.

The FMJZ subway lines are within a 5 minute walk and can lead you to most places in the city
Also should be noted, I ve hosted hundreds of guests many of which have been last minute due to their host canceling the day of or day prior. I've never canceled a single reservation and really try to make sure my guests feel as comfortable and safe during their stay in my apartment as that's how i like to feel while traveling in shared accommodations and believe in karma.

The neighborhood was nice and convenient. Brendan showed up on time on the corner to give us the key.
But the apartment could use a little help.
First my bed was placed against a low shelf and window so I had no way of sitting in the bed to read a book, place the bed to a wall. Also the lighting was terrible, raw open bulbs with no lamp shades.
The one bedroom apartment was obviously made into a illegal 2 bedroom. So there is no air or windows in the living room.
No hand towels for your face only shower towels.
We had a problem with the neighbors, Second night blasting techno music till all hours of the morning, I put a note in front of their door the next morning, but that was one lousy nights sleep for us.
The apartment was clean.
We are a family of four with a daughter 10 years old and a son 7 years old and this place was absolutely fantastic. The apartment is spacious (even for non-New Yorkers like us), clean, quiet, and has a balcony with a great view of the Empire State building and the Chrysler building. The neighborhood is wonderful, with plenty of great food, shopping, and convenience items (coffee shops, grocery stores, drugstores, etc.) within easy walking distance. Brendan was very professional and timely and even walked the apartment key over to us when we were eating lunch at Katz's deli. Now that's service!
Brendan was ever so helpful. He offered so much help before our trip and was prompt to respond to any of my questions whilst we were there. He has lots of great tips for must do's on New York.
The apartment is in a great location. Very close to the subway which takes about 10 mins to get to Central Park. The apartment wasn't very clean, just a quick tidy before we arrived but no vacuuming or dusting. The bed in the 2nd room was pretty uncomfortable. It's very uneven and lumpy and rolled in from the edges and into the middle. The heaters work GREAT in he apartment/bedrooms!
Brendan place was pretty awesome!! He was on top of everything from getting the key to helping me if I needed anything. It was really clean and a great area where I could walk anywhere in the city. I would recommend his place to anyone who wants to hang in a lower east side 2 bedroom gem. Thanks agin Brendan hope you can accommodate me again
Brendan's apt was good, it was good located maybe a little far of the main attractions in NY but we already knew the city, so that wasn't a problem.
We didn't met Brendan but he left the keys in a place to pick it up and it was really easy.
Besides the stay was good, there is a few things that I want to mention about the apt:
1) it seems to be a one bed convertible in a two bedrooms so it's small for 4 people.
2) even the apt is for 4 people it doesn't have chairs ( only3) and dinnerware enough.
3) the toilet locked, and he told us that it never happened before, but he has a professional plunger there.
4) there wasn't pressure in the sink's tap in the restroom.
5) the cleaning would definitely be better, the was powder under the beds and the floor was sticky.
We were two couples who stayed at Brendan's apartment for 5 days. The location was great but unfortunately there were some remarks.
First of all he did not follow us up to his place, instead he wanted us to meet at a coffee shop a few blocks away. He made us feel uncomfortable by asking us not to talk with his neighbors about renting his apartment.
Secondly the apartment smelled of smoke, mold and urine. Even though we opened all the windows the whole day the smell persisted. We had to clean the bathroom when we got there because there was so much mold and dust.
We could have complained to him but felt that it shouldn't be necessary to do that in a "luxury" apartment. Instead we wanted to talk to him when returning the keys but he didn't show up for that.
We did, despite of this, have a nice stay in New York but won't be staying with Brendan again.
Brendan was a great host. He was very flexible about when and where we would meet. The apartment was in perfect condition and the complex is modern and safe. The balcony and rooftop patio were fantastic and the views were incredible. The apartment was in a great part of town close to the subway and a lot or restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend staying here while in the city.
