Interaction with Guests
I will be as available as my lifestyle permits and as invisible as my guests may prefer. I have lived in this area for twenty years and worked in the hospitality industry for most of that time. I can be an excellent resource for insight on tours, activities, and adventures both public and private. I enjoy cooking utilizing fresh and local ingredients and could be available for food preparation or consultation, or perhaps a nice dinner party! I'm also happy to refer to excellent local restaurants where friends will provide memorable experiences.
I live in the master bedroom with master bath attached and separate private entrance. I will respect your privacy if you prefer a quiet, private vacation or am happy to entertain as my time permits. To reiterate, this rental will only be made available to ONE GROUP at a time.
Quiet, safe neighborhood very close to airport, beach, surf, and tons of fun.
Rental car is recommended.
I keep a very clean house and expect my guests to do the same.
Unfortunately, Jesse would not let us stay here. He was worried about liability. My husband had fallen had was using a walker and a wheelchair. His backyard is very sloped. The rental rooms appear to be connected to his own home. Jesse made my son walk to where he works at 9:00pm to return what I paid. He said he would give me cash back, but instead wrote a check for only $366 which we had to cash at his bank. This took 1 1/2hours on the morning before we flew out. In Hawaii non-locals are fingerprinted and their legal issued ID must be verified by the bank's forensic expert. We were a party of 4, my disabled husband, myself, my grown son and his girlfriend, forced into one room with no privacy instead the house we reserved. Jesse wanted my son and his girlfriend to stay at his place. This was a "family" vacation with one rental car. Jesse's home is miles away from any other available lodging.- not ideally located. We spent time stressing to find a place instead of relaxing.
It is amazing to me how someone can flip their opinion when givin the power of a keyboard.
When I first met Cheri she came to my door before check-in stressed, concerned and confused on how airbnb works. She informed me that her husband had just been cleared by the doctor to travel and insisted to see the home even though we were currently cleaning.
Having no prior knowledge of her husbands condition and little to no communication from her I decided to discuss this and show the house. So I took her around on a little tour of the place and at every turn she would him and haw about how this would not work!! She then said it may be ok if her husband stayed in only one bed for the remainder of the trip which truthfully sounded a little weird to me.
After plenty of conversation between me her son and his girlfriend we decided it would be best to seek out a handicap accessible hotel. I gave them a recommendation of a place in town located close to everything and possibly more convenient for them. Everyone seemed happy and good with the decision I even called and talked with her son to confirm they were comfortable. Justice assured me that they were fine and we came up with something that we all thought was fair. Cheri herself promised me a awesome review if I would refund some of her money and I agreed to refund all but $100 for the last minute changes. Funny how you now seem like the shady one lying and making up stories.
I am also very clear in my profile that I live in the home another example of the communication breakdown and the lack of detail on Cheri's part. I never MADE anyone walk over to my work Justice and I agreed this was the most convenient for us since they were staying literally across the street. I was told by your son that you guys got 2 rooms and were comfortable I also spoke with you and you thanked me for everything and my understanding. Now I read that you were forced into a room why would you not say anything to me but slam me on a review. Weird are you looking for a handout or do you create stress everywhere you go. I normally don't give dishonest people like you Cheri any energy but you are messing with my lively hood.
I really hope that you find peace in your life and stop blaming others for the negative energy you surround yourself with.
jesse was a wonderful host - fun to talk to and helpful with directions - his place was delightful to stay at - clean / refreshing / comfortable - it was so nice to have a clean pool to enjoy and a nice kitchen - thanks for letting us stay there - hope to visit again sometime -
Right off the bat, Jesse showed how great a host he was. I had an issue with my rental car due to misplacing my ID in Maui. He was super responsive to texts/emails and helped me resolve the issue and get my vacation back on track.
His home is very close to the KOA airport making arriving and leaving a breeze. While at his house, I was VERY impressed with not only the cleanliness, but also the decor. He obviously cares about the presentation of his home and the accommodations he provides visitors. The beds are really comfy and birds can be heard in the morning when you wake up. You really feel like you're at an island getaway. I would say the pictures online don't do the place justice. The outdoor/pool area is awesome and gets great sun but also provides shade with large umbrellas and overhangs if you want to stay out of direct sunlight and enjoy a beverage or two. I didn't use the kitchen, but Jesse gives the go-ahead to cook away if needed. Clean up after yourself, obviously. The house is about 10-15 min outside the town of Kona, so you'll definitely need a rental car, but you would need one anyways to explore the island.
On a personal level, Jesse is a great person: Warm, friendly, and accommodating. He gave great advice on what to do around the island. A perfect host. When I come back to Kona, I'm definitely booking here again!
Good place to stay. 5 minutes drive to airport and 15min to Kailua-Kona. Very confortable beds and rooms quite spacious. Very clean and modern rooms. Jesse was hepful, and most of the time you don't even know he is around.
Amazing place to stay. Very clean, bright and beautiful. Jesse was a great source of info and wad wonderful to have around.
Jesse is such a great host. He bends over backward to help me and my family when we are traveling. The pool is so inviting after a long plane flight. Everything here is neat as a pin. The separate entrance keeps things private. Wifi easy to (website hidden) in every room
