Beautiful sunny furnished garden-level apartment in lovely, elegantly restored Victorian townhouse in a very desirable location 6 blocks from MIT and Harvard. 1 queen bed in the bedroom, one full-size plus two twin futons in the living room. Quiet street, 1 block to Central T.
The house is in a vibrant area with lots of cool pubs, restaurants, bookstores, art galleries, grocery stores, banks, etc, but on a very quiet side street, so it offers the best of all worlds. Wonderful location, and perfect for those seeking privacy. 1/2 block from Mass Ave., 1 block to MBTA. Wireless internet included, cable TV, free parking subject to availability. There is a large lot a block away, on the corner of Bishop Allen Drive and Prospect Street, that is free from 5pm Friday to 7am Monday, and 5pm to 7am weekdays. There is also parking available nearby at 260 and 438 Green Street. On-street meteres are free from 6pm to 8am and Saturday 6pm to Monday 8am.
Perfect for a friendly but focused professional/visiting professor/grad student. Harvard/MIT visiting professors and PhD students often stay here as well. It is a quiet environment, perfect for studying or quiet rest.

If kitchen is used or excessive trash is left for removal, an additional $25-$50 cleaning fee will be deducted from the security deposit, depending on use.

The flat is very convenient in terms of location and the street is very nice. The flat it-self is half basement so not much light and a bit humid. Bathroom is a little worn out. But OK for staying a few days without spending much time in the flat, which was our case.
The apartment was very spacious and clean, in a great location. overall, a really nice experience. I would definitely recommend it.
This was the perfect location. It's exactly what the pictures show, nothing special, but a solid place to land for a few nights.
Place was as described. Very simple entry, no problems at all. Bed was pretty soft though!
The apartment is in a wonderful street, good location and the house is very nice. The owner was also very quick to respond to all my questions and take action.
However, the apartment is quite run down and even though they do their best clean the apartment, it's impossible to get it looking clean as black mildew has taken over the bathroom. The shower curtain is covered with it and the sink seems to be collapsing.
In addition the whole place feels decrepit. It's a typical cheap student flat with mattresses on the floor and cheap furniture.
I would say that the place is okay as there are no terrible smells or anything completely unacceptable. However, for the money I had expected a substantially better place.
This is my second stay at this apartment. This is a low key, no frills spot, in a great location. I like the fact that I can get into the apartment by using the door code, instead of carrying a set of keys. John is a responsive host, and easy to communicate with.

Air conditioning because we had hot weather while there, but it was practical for us and the location was ideal! We especially appreciated the direct tv and the wireless Internet...loved the keyless locks.
Great location, apartment clean. It was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children.
The other reviews capture this place fairly well. It's not overly dirty, but somewhat run down. The refrigerator looks as though it was just caught in a trawl in the Atlantic and the grout in the bathroom has its fair share of mildew.
That being said, the beds were well described and certainly adequate. We did not spend much time in the apartment and so wouldn't have benefited much from anything better kept.
All in all, for the price paid and location (along with the convenience of a door code), we found this to be a great place to rent if you're planning to spend time in Cambridge. If you intend to spend lots of time in the apartment however, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
No problems at all. Very near subway into central Boston.
It is no where near as bad as the reviews suggest. Fair enough it doesn't look as nice as the pic but places never do.
