Hard to notice the sign at first. In a really nice setting. Room not exactly as the pictures show, but still good. Good location to explore around, 15 minute walk to Monkey Forest, 35 min walk to Elephant caves. Wayan was super friendly and flexible with breakfast timing

Super friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast. Quiet atmosphere couse it's not directly at the street but sometimes the local neighborhood talks very loud and a lot. Nice hammock and space for yoga.

Balila is perfect. Exactly as it says on the listing. Private room and bathroom. 7 minute walk to Yoga Barn and town. Secluded enough that you don't get the noise. Breakfast every morning was lovely and Wayan was so helpful with anything and everything. I loved everything about my stay here.

This is a perfect place to land in Ubud, especially for the first time! It's not right in the center, but very easy to walk to it. It's actually better because it's less noisy and intense. It's a nice relief to come back to the little garden after a long day (URL HIDDEN) quiet and private, and you can relax in a hammock and listen to the lovely gamelan music in the evenings at the performances at the museum next door. I loved that! I also loved my room, especially the bathroom, it is so beautiful, with plants growing inside. I didn't actually meet Birgit, but she was an amazing communicator and helped me with transportation from the airport. And Wayan took such fabulous care of me. I could have stayed here much longer, but decided to go even further out of town for even more quiet :) Thank You!

I had such a wonderful time while in my cute purple room! I became quite fond of the room, the terrace with the comfy hammock, the friendly kitty, and the sound of the ARMA shows at night. Wayan was adorable and so very friendly and accommodating! I loved the fresh jams she made every morning and she got me hooked on lemongrass tea as well! I ended up having a friend join me during my stay and Birgit was very laid back about everything. You can walk to the monkey forest and the centre of Ubud to check out the markets and the palace very easily. Not only that but there are a plethora of restaurants and cafes to choose from all around you! Overall I had a great trip, and really enjoyed my time at Balila B&B.

Balila B&B is definitely a hidden gem in buzzing Ubud. A little outside of the centre, hidden away in a beautiful lush garden I loved my purple room, the shared terrace, Wayan, who truly is the soul of this place, the choice of egg and Bali coffee each morning, the simplicity and authenticity of this place. Yes, it might not look 100% like on the pictures (the room's a little darker, as there are more plants around now) and be a bit more basic than one might expect, but personally I think that only adds on to its charme. You also might find the city centre a bit far to walk, but there is GO-JEK, a great app to order scooter drivers, who get you anywhere you want for basically no cost. And of course you can always rent your own scooter, if you're ready for the Ubud craziness :) I would always choose Balila B&B again.

Had a great experience staying at Balila B&B. The houses are located very close to the center yet isolated enough to wind down and relax... Hosts were very friendly and the houses were surrounded by beautiful trees & green.
