This room has a private bath with shower, a view of town and is newly redecorated, with new bed, linens, furniture. Our rooms are all small, and simple. But cute. We just opened the beginning of March.
Felt very welcome and at home. Neighborhood was ideal. Easy walk to oceans and downtown. A little smell from the kitchen vents in the room though. Otherwise a very nice stay and dinner in their cafe was superb.
We loved staying at Trillium. Our room was clean and cute, and it was a really nice touch to have chocolate and water upon arrival. The scones and coffee in the morning were great (I still think about the scones when eating my sad desk breakfast!). Trillium is right in the middle of town and was very easy to find.
Sandra was super prompt with the acceptance of our requested booking, and even clued us in to the Whale Festival going on 3/7-3/8! We arrived in Mendocino on Sunday, so we unfortunately missed the chowder tastings in town on Saturday, but enjoyed a lovely program at the Cabrillo lighthouse that we would otherwise have missed. We were able to see a few gray whale spouts above the waterline from shore, even without binoculars. Check-in was pleasant and efficient, and Saul greeted us upstairs at the Village View room with an offer to change to any other room if we preferred (we were the only overnight guests that day). Though we had made prior arrangements to dine in Fort Bragg that night, the smells emanating from the downstairs kitchen during the afternoon made our mouths water - will definitely dine there next time! Our room was cozy, clean, rustic, and refreshing. We woke to fresh coffee made by George (or Jorge?) and scrumptiously sweet scones (homemade) brought over by Saul. All in all, an awesome experience that I would recommend time and again - we'll be back soon!
Super cute and clean room in a great location! You're right in town, short walk to the beach, bars, cute shops. The owners and staff are very nice and accommodating! Their restaurant is excellent! We would definitely stay there again.
"Lovely" is the word that best describes the experience at Trillium Cafe & Inn. The location could not be more perfect; right in the middle of Mendocino village, close to the water, the shops and restaurants, everything you want to see and do there. And the building has been carefully and beautifully renovated. The rooms are small, but cozy -- and the bed was more comfortable than the one I have at home! The sunset view was spectacular. The food was fabulous, and stands up well to what we are used to at home in the Bay Area. A nice selection of hearty and healthy and earthy -- all superbly prepared, in a hopelessly romantic setting. This is the kind of B&B that you dream about, or see in a moving starring someone like Richard Gere. Sandra and her husband could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The scones and coffee for breakfast were so delicious, we couldn't resist having one more. All three rooms were booked when we were there, but we felt like we had the house to ourselves. I am hooked, and can't wait to return!
I booked room 3 at Trillium for the weekend. it was simple, comfy, and perfect for the weekend. Each morning we were greeted with yummy scones, coffee/tea and an ocean view. Sandra was very kind to introudce herself and welcome us to her home. Mendicino is a chill, laid back and beautiful town. We will be sure to stay at Trillium again when we make it back. Thanks Sandra!

My husband Saul and I bought the restaurant last year and opened in March. We are really enjoying running our own business, and have a great time meeting all our new guests, and creating the new menus for the restaurant.
