This room has a private bath with shower, a view of town and is newly redecorated, with new bed, linens, furniture. Our rooms are all small, and simple. But cute. We just opened the beginning of March.
What a lovely place! Very charming inn right in the heart of Mendocino. We opted for this room for the private bath, which we felt was worth the sacrifice of the non-ocean view (although, really, if you stuck your neck outside the window and looked to your right, it's right there.) Besides, you are literally a few feet from the water anyway, which was so perfect. Upon checking in, we immediately headed over to the Headlands and walked the trail down to the beach. Worked up enough appetite by the time we returned to enjoy an absolutely lovely dinner at the café. Make sure you make reservations as the place gets packed, and for good reason. The room itself is basic, but comfortable. The bed was nice, room was clean. The restaurant downstairs can be a bit noisy, so if you're a light or early sleeper (like my husband) I'd suggest earplugs. He used his and slept well. The owner and staff were all very friendly. Best part -- the other guests left early, leaving behind the luscious cranberry lemon scones that were made for them. So after enjoying ours with a our morning coffee, the owner offered to box up a few for us, which came in handy for our long drive home. Nice! Overall, we had a really nice time here and would definitely recommend.
We had an exceptional time at Trillium. The hosts were both very attentive and friendly...wonderful breakfast each morning...very comfortable bed...immaculately clean and (email hidden)esh flowers greeted us in our room when we arrived...and just a few steps from the beach and the main part of town. Best cappuccino I've had in years.
We will definitely return!
We had a great one night stay at Trillium. We booked room #3 so we would have a private bathroom but because we were the only guests that evening, Sandra suggested we stay in room #1 so we could enjoy the wonderful ocean view. The hosts were easy to coordinate with and offered suggestions for local activities. Our breakfast was delicious: a fruit parfait and coffee was served at 8:30am and then we were off to explore the tide pools. As others have noted, the first floor of the B&B is a restaurant but that didn't present a problem for us; if only we had arrived hungry! The room was very quiet, newly renovated, and clean. Trillium is a great option in Mendocino, especially if you are planning an active trip.
Our stay at the Trillium Cafe & Inn was amazing! Exactly what we were after. Located right in town. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and the ocean. The rooms were very comfortable and charming and the hosts, extremely friendly and kind. I would love to stay here again.
Wonderful hosts. It wasn't a problem that we showed up in the middle of dinner. The inn itself is very nice, with a beautiful dining area and porch with tons of light. Rooms were very comfortable. Not huge but plenty of space for a weekend. The location can't be beat - right in the heart of beautiful Mendicino. Hosts greated us each morning with excellent coffee, fresh baked scones and good advice for exploring the area. We hope to be back!
Felt very welcome and at home. Neighborhood was ideal. Easy walk to oceans and downtown. A little smell from the kitchen vents in the room though. Otherwise a very nice stay and dinner in their cafe was superb.
We loved staying at Trillium. Our room was clean and cute, and it was a really nice touch to have chocolate and water upon arrival. The scones and coffee in the morning were great (I still think about the scones when eating my sad desk breakfast!). Trillium is right in the middle of town and was very easy to find.

My husband Saul and I bought the restaurant last year and opened in March. We are really enjoying running our own business, and have a great time meeting all our new guests, and creating the new menus for the restaurant.
