I have a beautiful bedroom available in a 4 bedroom apartment in up-and-coming charming Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Just 4 blocks from the Bedford Avenue stop on the L line (a mere 5 minutes from Manhattan), the location can’t be beat. What’s more, this neighborhood has been featured as one of the new spots to visit while in New York City. There are plenty of boutiques, small businesses and art galleries as well as delicious restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Plus two parks, one with a variety of activities and a weekly green market, and the other with a beautiful view of the East River and the Manhattan skyline.
Speaking of which, the rooftop in the building is equipped with a deck, chairs and even grills… and another postcard view of the Manhattan skyline.
Glowing with sunlight and spacious, this private bedroom is the perfect place to stop for a few days. Whether you want to relax or go out to the city, you will have an inviting place to come back to at the end of the day.
The bedroom is furnished with a bed, a small table, a dresser and a built-in closet and has plenty of extra room for anything else you might want to bring.
The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge and a new stove, and you’re welcome to make use of them anytime. A variety of teas are available.
The bathroom is spacious, has tons of storage and a full bath tub for those cold days in which you need to thaw out with a bath. Towels are included in your rate.
The large living room is bathed in light from huge windows. There is a lending library that you’re invited to make use of.
Wireless internet is secure, and there is free laundry in the building. All of this is included in your rate as well.
From time to time, there will be workshops on spirituality, yoga, food, art, massage and other interesting subjects held in the living room. You're welcome to participate as part of your stay in this oasis in the middle of bustling NYC. Healing, Massage, and Life Coaching sessions are also available at an additional cost.
Lastly, yes, I live here as well and am available to answer questions and guide you during your visit.

I want my guests to feel at home, so please feel free to keep stuff in the fridge, cook in the kitchen, chill in the living room, or take a relaxing bath. Interaction with Guests
This is where I live, and I like it to feel homey. That means I enjoy interacting with my guests, making them feel at home and sometimes hanging out or going to brunch together. Not a requirement, but it's nice to connect with the people you're sharing your living space with.
Also, I'm always available to answer questions about the neighborhood, restaurants, things to do, etc.
Our location can't be beat! We are located in one of the best neighborhoods, and one of the best parts of the neighborhood.
It's actually really hard to go to a restaurant that serves mediocre food around here. Cafe Mogador, Sweetwater, Egg, 5 Leaves, Sea, Chai Thai, El Almacen are a few of my favorite.
There's so many gourmet coffee shops with ridiculously good coffee that it's hard to decide which one to go to sometimes. And Bakeri, a European style coffee shop and bakery is less than a block away and so good! Guests often like to grab their continental breakfast there (and so do I!).
Designer boutiques with interesting and fun clothes and gifts abound, and health food stores stay open until midnight so you can have a fresh young coconut or fresh-pressed green juice on your way home from dinner.
Plus, we are a block away from the East River State Park, which hosts the Brooklyn Flea market and Smorgasburg, two awesome not-to-be-missed attractions that tourists and locals from all over the city come for.
We're also 5 blocks from McCarren park, with its track field, tennis courts, and the farmers' market on Saturdays.
This neighborhood feels homey and like a small town with small businesses that have tons of character. The people-watching is fantastic, and it has a laid-back vibe… yet we're only 5 minutes from Union Square in Manhattan!
The Bedford Avenue stop on the L line is only 4 blocks from the apartment, and it will take you into Manhattan within 5 minutes. Pretty much anything you would want to go to is 15-20 minutes away.
Off-street parking is available, though you'd have to make sure to move your car to the right side of the street every couple of days to avoid tickets.
Directions from JFK:
To get here, the cheapest way would be to take the subway.
1) Take the AirTrain to Howard Beach station
2) Take the A train towards Manhattan.
3) Get off at Broadway Junction and transfer to the L train towards Manhattan
4) Get off at the Bedford Avenue station (the last station before Manhattan)
5) Walk 2 blocks north to N 9 Street
6) Make a left on N 9 Street and walk 2 more blocks
The trip normally takes about 1 1/2 hours, and it cost $7 per person..
For the fastest way, take a taxi, which is usually about $35-40.
Lastly, the medium option is to take a door-to-door airport shuttle, which I believe is about $15 per person (but I've never taken it so I don't really know).
This is a safe space for fun, exploration and transformation. Please take advantage and feel free to be yourself. The only restrictions are as follows:
No smoking or pets are allowed. Also, being a sacred space, we ask that you remove your shoes at the door. Use of the kitchen is free, but please be respectful and clean up after yourself.
Enjoy your stay!
From Jun 1 - Aug 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 7 nights.
This location is amazing. So close to coffee shops, record stores, restaurants and the subway. Melody is extremely kind, calm and helpful. There is only one bathroom but if mainly staying there to sleep and up before 10 or 11 never encountered a problem. Room was very spacious and clean. Hope to stay here again!
Melody is a very friendly host. the room is pretty basic but who want's to stay in his room when visiting new york? the most we did enjoy the
rooftoop. the view is really awesome. it is very close to the east river so you have a wonderful view on manhattan skyline.
The expectations of the apartment was high. I was a bit disapointed that the apartment wasn't like as I expected. The bath room and my room was dirty, when I arrived and I informed Melody. She took care without complaining and tried to make me feel comfi at her apartment. I need to say that she is a friendly women. The details in the room can be improved to give the visitor a good feeling that it was right to pay the money for the room. In times of IKEA is it easily to renew things without spending a lot of money. (like a new lampshade)
We had such a great time at Melodys place.
She was a great host and made sure that we totally felt welcome from the time we arrived.
The room and the whole appartment was really clean and in the perfect location to explore New York City.
I can tottaly recommend her place and would def book it again.
Thanks Melody for letting us stay at your place!!!
The location is great. The host is friendly. In the morning it's a little bit too shiny in the room, but if you are an early bird it won't bother you. There is only one toilet and bathroom that are used by all guests, but it's fine if you are ok with getting up at 8 a.m.
However we han an accidet while living there. The day before leaving we stained the sheets, and didn't tell the host as we thought it was logical that bedclothes would be washed after us. In 10 days we were fined 169 $, that was a little bit too price as the quality of original cleanliness left much to be desired.
I enjoyed hosting Zina and Stan. They were perfectly lovely guests. I was surprised to find the bed linen and pillows stained beyond repair when they left however. I washed them with bleach twice, and there was nothing to be done except replace them.
Zina, I'm sorry you thought that was too much to pay but in researching the replacement items, I picked the cheapest comparable sheets, quilt and pillows to replace the ones that were ruined. Maybe things are cheaper in Russia, but here in New York, that's how much it costs.
Wonderful apartment, incredibly nice, healthy, warm people to stay with. Highly recommended
