I have a beautiful bedroom available in a 4 bedroom apartment in up-and-coming charming Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Just 4 blocks from the Bedford Avenue stop on the L line (a mere 5 minutes from Manhattan), the location can’t be beat. What’s more, this neighborhood has been featured as one of the new spots to visit while in New York City. There are plenty of boutiques, small businesses and art galleries as well as delicious restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Plus two parks, one with a variety of activities and a weekly green market, and the other with a beautiful view of the East River and the Manhattan skyline.
Speaking of which, the rooftop in the building is equipped with a deck, chairs and even grills… and another postcard view of the Manhattan skyline.
Glowing with sunlight and spacious, this private bedroom is the perfect place to stop for a few days. Whether you want to relax or go out to the city, you will have an inviting place to come back to at the end of the day.
The bedroom is furnished with a bed, a small table, a dresser and a built-in closet and has plenty of extra room for anything else you might want to bring.
The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge and a new stove, and you’re welcome to make use of them anytime. A variety of teas are available.
The bathroom is spacious, has tons of storage and a full bath tub for those cold days in which you need to thaw out with a bath. Towels are included in your rate.
The large living room is bathed in light from huge windows. There is a lending library that you’re invited to make use of.
Wireless internet is secure, and there is free laundry in the building. All of this is included in your rate as well.
From time to time, there will be workshops on spirituality, yoga, food, art, massage and other interesting subjects held in the living room. You're welcome to participate as part of your stay in this oasis in the middle of bustling NYC. Healing, Massage, and Life Coaching sessions are also available at an additional cost.
Lastly, yes, I live here as well and am available to answer questions and guide you during your visit.

I want my guests to feel at home, so please feel free to keep stuff in the fridge, cook in the kitchen, chill in the living room, or take a relaxing bath. Please note: while there is an elevator, please ask me before using it as it requires specific instructions.
Interaction with Guests
This is where I live, and I like it to feel homey. That means I enjoy interacting with my guests, making them feel at home and sometimes hanging out or going to brunch together. Not a requirement, but it's nice to connect with the people you're sharing your living space with.
Also, I'm always available to answer questions about the neighborhood, restaurants, things to do, etc.
Our location can't be beat! We are located in one of the best neighborhoods, and one of the best parts of the neighborhood.
It's actually really hard to go to a restaurant that serves mediocre food around here. Cafe Mogador, Sweetwater, Egg, 5 Leaves, Sea, Chai Thai, El Almacen are a few of my favorite.
There's so many gourmet coffee shops with ridiculously good coffee that it's hard to decide which one to go to sometimes. And Bakeri, a European style coffee shop and bakery is less than a block away and so good! Guests often like to grab their continental breakfast there (and so do I!).
Designer boutiques with interesting and fun clothes and gifts abound, and health food stores stay open until midnight so you can have a fresh young coconut or fresh-pressed green juice on your way home from dinner.
Plus, we are a block away from the East River State Park, which hosts the Brooklyn Flea market and Smorgasburg, two awesome not-to-be-missed attractions that tourists and locals from all over the city come for.
We're also 5 blocks from McCarren park, with its track field, tennis courts, and the farmers' market on Saturdays.
This neighborhood feels homey and like a small town with small businesses that have tons of character. The people-watching is fantastic, and it has a laid-back vibe… yet we're only 5 minutes from Union Square in Manhattan!
The Bedford Avenue stop on the L line is only 4 blocks from the apartment, and it will take you into Manhattan within 5 minutes. Pretty much anything you would want to go to is 15-20 minutes away.
Off-street parking is available, though you'd have to make sure to move your car to the right side of the street every couple of days to avoid tickets.
Directions from JFK:
To get here, the cheapest way would be to take the subway.
1) Take the AirTrain to Howard Beach station
2) Take the A train towards Manhattan.
3) Get off at Broadway Junction and transfer to the L train towards Manhattan
4) Get off at the Bedford Avenue station (the last station before Manhattan)
5) Walk 2 blocks north to N 9 Street
6) Make a left on N 9 Street and walk 2 more blocks
The trip normally takes about 1 1/2 hours, and it cost $7 per person..
For the fastest way, take a taxi, which is usually about $35-40.
Lastly, the medium option is to take a door-to-door airport shuttle, which I believe is about $15 per person (but I've never taken it so I don't really know).
This is a safe space for fun, exploration and transformation. Please take advantage and feel free to be yourself. The only restrictions are as follows:
No smoking or pets are allowed. Also, being a sacred space, we ask that you remove your shoes at the door. Use of the kitchen is free, but please be respectful and clean up after yourself.
Enjoy your stay!
It was laid back and easy to stay with Melody. Great room if the goal is to have a place to crash while exploring Brooklyn. But the flat was a bit dirty, we shared it with 4 others and the morning sun made the room very hot.
Wonderful apartment, incredibly nice, healthy, warm people to stay with. Highly recommended
It was definitely too pricy considering we shared the apartment with at least 3 other people, sometimes 4, which we weren't aware of when we booked. Also, the bathroom is very dirty. I would say it was never cleaned, and that with 4 people using it daily. The same goes for the room my friend and I stayed in. Dust, hair, crumbs. Also, FYI: in the mornings, you woke up immediately due to the large windows without curtains and it was extremely cold in the mornings because apparently the heating was turned off after some point at night. I didn't spend too much time in the apartment and so didn't really get to know Melody, but still, she is very welcoming and nice. So thanks a lot Melody, we had a good time, but the cleanliness should be stepped up for the amount of money paid. Other than that: it's in a cool area in Wburg close to Bedford subway and lots of stores.
Extremely unclean apartment
Melody was very unfriendly and didn't make us feel like we were welcome in the common areas
Often had to use public bathrooms along Bedford Ave because the bathroom in the apartment was occupied for hours at a time
Unsure if the room had been cleaned since the last guest
Overall not worth the money she is charging.
Terrific spot, terrific stay. Like most others I spent a week here using it as a base to explore and experience New York. The place has a nice vibe to it with several interesting guests coming and going throughout my stay.
Melody was a friendly host, flexible with arrival/departure times while offering the odd local tip.
Williamsburg itself has several attractions with a surprisingly wide range of restaurants/bars/cafes open late into the night which I often sampled either to catch up on some work or to wind down after the chaos of NY.
Late Oct/Nov is also a great time to stay with the change of seasons (apparently mostly cool with the odd warm day thrown in) Halloween and the New York Marathon - although you might want to make sure your departing flight doesn't coincide with its running!
We totally recommend Melody’s place! Melody is a very friendly and helpful host. The apartment is very nice and has a very relaxing atmosphere. It’s located in a perfect spot in Williamsburg just 2 minutes away from the lively Bedford Avenue full of bars, restaurants and cafes. The views to Manhattan from the rooftop are amazing!! The subway is 5 minutes away from the flat and so is the East River Ferry which is a nice alternative transport to get to Manhattan.
