The Space

This centrally located downtown Kailua-Kona, luxury One Bedroom with full bath "penthouse" over 800 SF living area is right in the center of Kailua-Kona, with everything within easy walking distance: the beach, church, shops, restaurants, the post office as well as the bank. It is only 6 miles from Keahole International Airport, and 10 miles to Kona hospital.

The apartment is very light, quiet, spacious, comfortable and elegantly furnished, including a 55" Toshiba LCD TV with Cable TV, so you can watch sports in comfort in your own room with a cool drink from your full-size refrigerator/freezer, or relax and enjoy the view either on the balcony or in the large screened-in lanai: for the good life in Kona!

It comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, a NEW queen-size "recovery bed"--specially designed for good sleep even after the Iron Man, and at sitting height for easy access--as well as a NEW futon/bed with extra comfortable mattress. There is also a full-size washer and dryer for longer stays.

The building has a large pool and terrace, elevator service, underground parking, and 24-hour security on the premises.

  • Tsing was friendly and quickly available when needed. The place was clean and centrally located. It is used primarily for rentals so it is more like a hotel stay than staying in someone's home, but Tsing was responsive and the house equipped. The lanai was a relaxing place to sit and read and the breeze was great. The neighbors were friendly. The pool area was quiet and clean. It can get a bit noisy at night from the street noise. We weren't prepared for the extra Hawaii tax or the security deposit which we had to pay when we arrived (but I think it's now included in the Airbnb calculations). You'll also have to pay for wireless upon arrival. We did get our security deposit back in full. We would recommend this place. Check-in and check-out were very easy because Tsing is so accommodating.

  • We had a great stay in Kona Plaza. Tsing has been a super hostess! Can not beat the location for easy access to downtown. Spacious, quiet and comfy. Home away from home.

  • We had an awesome stay in October 2012 during Ironman week. We booked this place fairly last minute so where suprised it was this good. The location is perfect if you're racing the IM. It's 400m from the pier, straight on Alii Drive. The shops are a 30sec stroll and larger supermarkets are 5min away. The pool is small but decent.

    The apt is decently furnished and includes linnen, towels and the like. Tsing (the landlady) is the nicest ever! Since it was raceweek all cars on the island were rented and we we're able to borrow her car for a day.

    All in all, nice apartment in a great location!

    Overall reasonably satisfied
    Got off to a bad start when we were given wrong code to access keys
    and couldn't get into unit but it all worked out in the end
    Street noise every night so bring ear plugs Also construction going on at the moment and this noise really carries They seem to start very early due to heat factor I would guess.
    Complex is kept very clean and other tenants very friendly and helpful

  • Tsing was great and her condo in Kailua-Kona was great. With this location there is no need for a rental car as everything is very close. City noise is a bit of a pain but at least here you can close all the doors and windows and turn on the AC during the night. Tsing was always quick to help with any minor issues that came up. We would highly recommend this location!

  • Tsing was an excellent host. The Internet was hooked up immediately and the blender replaced the same day it stopped working. The condo really has everything you need and is in a nice quiet complex. There is a bit of street noise, but not that much. I look forward to returning!
