It's the house of a local family who's currently living in NZ; a typical island family home right in the centre of the wonderful island Aitutaki. Close enough to everything, a short stroll from the ocean and the little village Arutanga. Your neighbors are local families, tropical trees and flowers and a few chicken. It's the perfect place for interested travelers who are looking for a safe roof over their head in an authentic environment and want to get more than a glimpse of real island life

The space
Nothing fancy, but all you need for a holiday in paradise. You will be close to the historical church, the post office & the Aitutaki port. Like almost all places on Aitutaki it's tranquil, relaxing and far far away from any stress. Aitutaki people are very friendly and welcoming. Naomi and Strickland, the parents of the house owners, will welcome you at the airport, take you to your home away from home and make sure that all your questions will be answered. They will be happy to show you where to find the local market, the post office, the bank. Since Aitutaki is such a tiny island nothing is ever far away and the most beautiful lagoon for swimming, snorkeling and whole day tours can be reached within minutes. Bedrooms: 3 with a queen sized bed each, additional single bed in living area + 3 seater sofa.

Where you’ll be

Cook Islands

The whole island of Aitutaki is safe, very quiet and rather tranquil. The hectic city life is quickly forgotten when you sit on the veranda and enjoy the sun set. Of course there ist the world famous lagoon that you will enjoy pretty much every day. You can see the ocean from your front yard, and the most beautiful beaches are always only minutes away.
There are not many tourist accommodations in the area, it's rather local families who live here. The school is around the corner, shops are in walking distance. Also there are some chicken and cats. They won't bother you. And we hope you mind the roosters greeting the rising sun in the morning. There are no dogs on Aitutaki.
