Interaction with Guests
We will interact with our guests as much or as little as they wish. We have been living in this beautiful area for many years and we know it and love it very much. We are happy to offer advice on the best places to visit, to eat. to hike and to bike but if you prefer to be left alone that is fine too.
We love the fact that we have the best of both worlds. We live out in the countryside, high in the Wicklow mountains yet we are so accessible to Dublin city- only 45 minutes city! Our neighbourhood is peaceful, safe and relaxing. The cottage is located 10 minutes walk from the village of Roundwood.
There is a bus twice a day from Roundwood via Bray to Dublin city. However we would recommend that you hire a car to really get and explore this beautiful area.

No smoking in the house. This is a quiet place and not suitable for parties. No loud noise after midnight or before 9am in the morning. Please be respectful and considerate to the property and it's owners at all times.
- Emma was easy to deal with, super responsive and very friendly;
- the flat is small, cosy and clean at the end of a converted stable with a great comfy bed and a beautiful view in a stunning location. Its a simple place and great if you want to completely switch off (little mobile reception and no wifi);
- the surrounding area is exactly as you'd expect, super attractive and easily accessible from the apartment. Its a just over a mile to walk into Roundhill which is great for a pint or a decent breakfast.
- all in all, highly recommended and does what you'd expect.
The apartment was smaller than advertised and located behind some ugly looking farm buildings. There was a nice view of the countryside from inside the apartment, however. There was a note left from the previous occupant which made me wonder whether the host had been there to clean between guests.
Firstly I would like to thank you sincerely for choosing our accommodation and for being our guest. In response to your review, I would like to comment as follows;
You state that the apartment is 'smaller than advertised'. The apartment is advertised as having one bedroom, one bathroom and a living/ kitchen area and this infact is what it does actually consist of so the property is as advertised. If you feel the listing is misleading in some way, please enlighten me as as to how this is the case. I have not listed the actual m2 size of the space so I am not sure why you feel it is smaller than advertised.
You also state that, 'the apartment is located behind some ugly looking farm buildings'. As advertised, the apartment is in a stable yard out in the countryside. There are some other buildings on the grounds but these are not visible from the apartment. All of the buildings on the property and the grounds of the property are in good condition and we spend a lot of time and money maintaining the property to a very high standard. I am actually not sure what 'ugly farm buildings' you are referring to but if you find some of the buildings ugly this is fine and you are completely entitled to your opinion. We are not running a 5 star resort, this is a simple apartment out in the beautiful Wicklow hills and this is how apartment is advertised.
Your last comment, 'there was a note left from a previous occupant which made me wonder whether the host had been there to clean between guests'. I can totally assure you and past and potential guests that the place is thoroughly cleaned between guests. the bedlinen and towels etc are changed and every corner of the place is completely cleaned. The note you refer to was a note left by a lovely French lady who had stayed there before you and we must have left it there by mistake with the local bus time table which we had hand written for her and left there for the convenience of future guests. It is unfair to insinuate that this note may indicate the place had not been cleaned. The place was left for you in impeccable condition as it is for every guest. This is not a luxury apartment but the cleanliness of it is of paramount importance. We spend a lot of time ensuring it is cleaned to a very high standard for each guest. As you will note from the positive previous guest reviews, everyone has been very happy with the apartment so I am surprised to hear your negative comments.
Very pretty peace place , really pleasant and perfect to have good walk to discover the wiklow mountains
Hosts are welcoming and take time wiyh you
I 'm so enjoy !
Spacious and clean, close to all the Wicklow sights and situated in the quaint town of Roundwood.
The space was lovely. Exactly what I wanted, nestled into the rolling hillside between the cows and sheep. It was clean and neat and had everything I needed. The only thing missing was internet/tv . . . but when you're on vacation that's sometimes a +. I enjoyed the easy 1.5 km walk to town and readily accessed the Wicklow Way at the opposite end of the road. I highly recommend a trek to the Indian Sculpture Park as well. Thank you Emma!
We stayed there for two nights. Everything was great. The appartment is situated close to the sightseeings. Its something for people who like it calm an cosy.
