This converted 18th century barn is an existing holiday rental, with full central heating, pool, Wifi, english language tv and everything you'll need after a good day's cycling or touring. In 2014 it will be 250 years old. With walls about a metre thick, it was built to last.
It sits, together with another house, in it's own grounds, surrounded by the peaceful french countryside. We are on the edge of a small hamlet, in the middle of a walnut orchard. We have more cows walking past our gate in the Summer, than cars driving past.
In the hills overlooking Bretenoux in the North Lot, we are 10 minutes from the nearest restaurant and 15 from the shops. We are in the middle of the hidden jewel of France, with so many beautiful villages, towns, castles and countryside. Come here for the lifestyle, not the nightlife,
Our closest airport is Brive/Vallee de la Dordogne. Toulouse, Rodez, Limoges, Bordeaux and Bergerac are within a reasonable drive. Mainline trains to Paris and also the South are found at Brive, linked with our local train station. Brive is also the best place to pick up a hire car. Incidentally, if you're in Europe for a few months, you might consider leasing your car, not renting, as it's quite often cheaper.
We are both cyclists and runners and can guide you (if you wish) around this lovely part of rural France. Offroad or onroad, there are some great trails around here; some lovely restaurants...the reason we run and cycle is because we can visit a few more!
We have 9 years experience consistently providing top quality service to our guests. We have never scored less than 9 out of 10 in customer feedback from our rental agent. So come and join us in lovely rural France.
If you are planning to stay in the Dordogne area then this is the place to be. We absolutely loved Andy's place. It truly is a hideaway. The house itself is spacious, lovely big kitchen, many bathrooms, roomy bedrooms, light and airy. The pool was a big hit with our teenagers. The hideaway is incredibly picturesque surrounded by a walnut grove, forest and views of the hills. If you can wake up in time you can buy pastries from the mobile delivery van. Andy and Kerrie our hosts were so warm and welcoming and we greatly enjoyed hearing about life in rural France. The location is ideal. We used it as a base to explore the area and we enjoyed driving through the little villages. Would love to return one day.
