I have a 2400 sq ft stylish Gold Coast condo (infusing deco and modern artistry) overlooking the Magnificent Mile, Lake Michigan, Trump Tower, Sears Tower and Wrigley Building among other notable historic skyscrapers.
If you rent on New Year's Eve, you get the following: a CATERED party for 10-35 friends including an open bar of top shelf liquor and wine (with bartender and in-condo security guard) featuring a kick ass live jazz band and professional photographer who will provide a link or DVD of photos taken that night. 2-4 guests may stay the night (one master bedroom) and check out at 4pm New Year's Day, after enjoying complimentary morning mimosas, a bottle of wine (for each person) to take home and a 10% discount on brunch in the building bistro that afternoon.
The neighborhood is the GOLD COAST, Chicago's most elite, posh and expensive area; the condo is located off of the Magnificent mile known as Michigan Avenue's most famous strip of shopping amid historic landmark buildings and mansions.
The CTA Redline is two blocks from the front door and all lines can be accessed at another station, located 7 blocks south. The Metra Station is less than a mile and a half away ($5.00 cabfare to the condo) and taxi services are constantly in front of the building. There are various bus routes right in front of the building as well. It is an extremely safe building with 24-7 doormen and fob-only locked entrances and security cameras on every floor and elevator. You will witness a fabulous firework display over the lake on New Year's Eve from the private balcony in the condo.
My condo is unique because it is a corner unit in a highly sought-after building, with *almost* panoramic views, it is chic and adorned in historical memorabilia of famous, personalized signatures on my wall's artwork by jazz legends, and as a known musician myself, you will have the unique and memorable experience to be up close and personally entertained by Grammy winning icons of Jazz (the music that made Chicago famous).
**The party can only be from 5pm until 12:30am (the building gets grouchy after 10pm, truth be told... So last call will be 12:15, and the party must migrate to the bar/restaurant below on the corner until 4am. The renter who is staying the night and his/her other guest(s) have all night access to the condo obviously until 4pm New Year's Day 2013.
Please note: I am very particular about who I will allow to be in my home on this historically rowdy holiday eve; I am strict in terms of renting only to truly CONSIDERATE and RESPONSIBLE people as I am not about to endure a bunch of property damage and heat from my building for strangers to trash my place. This is not a Frat house. This is an extremely elegant, high-end building and I am only going to cater to guests who respect my property and the house rules. If you are looking for a screaming rowdy place to unleash with college buddies etc, this is not for you. If you are looking to throw a classy, refined event with exceptional music and a dignified atmosphere of mingling, laughing, enjoying each other responsibly, to welcome in a new year of life, I'm the place for you. No drugs, no smoking of ANY kind and no illegal behavior will be tolerated. (Please note: if you throw up, the deposit will be collected in full plus a $150 clean up fee).
10-35 guests from 5pm New Year's Eve until 12:45am=
two cases of wine, gin, vodka, rum, scotch, 2-4 complimentary bottles of champagne, coffee, soft drinks, juice and catered food, live jazz until 10:30pm
The condo is 2,400 square feet of fabulousness with breathtaking views from every room, most notably, the private balcony. The three bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, southeast corner (33rd floor) unit is in a newer and chic high-rise in the center of the city, known as the GOLD COAST, just off of the famous "Magnificent Mile" (aka Michigan Avenue). The condo is heavily steeped in Art Deco flavors with some 1960's modern-contemporary character. The unit has hardwood floors, new carpeting in all bedrooms, big bathrooms, huge common areas, tons of closets... it is a killer place, ok?
I think, as you will see in the comments and reviews left by my many other guests (see "reviews of other properties by this host"), what makes my home unique is the attention to detail I put into making sure your stay is not just comfortable but WONDERFULLY FUN and memorable! How many people can really say they had a private concert performed by Grammy-winning musicians?! How many people can say they even KNOW a jazz singer, let alone stayed in her home, looking down on the city lights of Chicago's breathtaking skyline and lakefront? I try to make each and every encounter with my renters very personalized and warm-hearted. It adds amazing karma into the universe! XOXO
Erin was a really terrific hostess. She is a fascinating and fun person to meet and she made me feel right at home during my visit. She was kind enough to invite me to one of her gigs during my stay and I got to meet some of her friends. She's a great singer and I would highly recommend trying to see her perform if you can.
Her apartment is very high end and is located on the 33 floor and has stunning views of the city particularly at night. It has a great gym, sun deck etc and is located close to great restaurants and bars.
I can't say enough good things about Erin and would highly recommend her home to other airbnbers
