Beautifully designed home with stunning ocean and jungle views in a very private setting. Amazing backyard pool. View wildlife and night skies from the three outdoor terraces. Perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or for families.
Perched on top on a small hill, Casa Luciernaga has 360 degree views of the ocean, surrounding jungle, Monkey Mountain, as well as the majestic Sayulita night skies. Awake to the gentle sunrise over the eastern jungle mountains and watch the sun melt into the blue Pacific Ocean at the end of the day. Our guests have the whole house and grounds to themselves, and the private setting with no near neighbors makes it an ideal location for couples seeking time together to relax and take in the beauty of nature. Designed and constructed by a well-known local architect, this light-filled house has views from every room. The Master bedroom on the second level overlooks the Pacific Ocean and has a large King Size bed with its own bathroom and an outdoor shower that has expansive views of the surrounding hills and jungle. The second bedroom also has stunning views of the hills and ocean, and the two couches make into very comfortable beds. There is a full, well-equipped kitchen for cooking if you would like to dine in for some meals. The three outdoor terraces expand the living space and can be used for dining and relaxing. It's easy to spend a whole day swimming, sunbathing and reading by the beautiful backyard pool. Cooling breezes create a comfortable climate, and a variety of birds frequent the trees around the house. Experience the feeling of being away from it all in your own private retreat, yet you are only a short walk away from the main plaza, beach, restaurants, and shops. In short, Casa Luciernaga has all the ingredients for a relaxing and memorable Sayulita vacation.

The host provides detailed information about this vacation home and things to do in Sayulita, including tips about airport transportation or where to dine. The home and its setting are every bit as beautiful as the photos suggest. It's well equipped, and tastefully furnished and decorated — very roomy for a couple looking for a wonderful get-away. The bed is very comfortable. The views are stunning, and the private pool offers refreshing dips to cool off after a day in the sunshine. There are multiple decks in case you want to seek (or hide from) the sun. It was great fun to shower in the upstairs outdoor bathroom. We found this location to be quite noisy at night, especially weekends, so bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. That said, we would expect any hilltop location in Sayulita would be noisy. We advise renting a golf cart to get around, unless you walk regularly.
This house is awesome! We loved the pool and hammock, and had a great time barbecuing in the evenings and taking in the ocean views with a margarita in hand. The town is about a 10 minutes walk away down a pretty steep hill, but this was as advertised and not a real issue for us. The house is surrounded by forest, so it has a very private feel. Would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the house and views so much it took us a a few days to actually get out and see the town!
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful family vacation in Sayulita with our two children ages 3 & 6. Chris is an extremely responsive and thorough host. The house is situated just outside of town on a hill with cool breezes and beautiful views. The yard is beautifully landscaped and we enjoyed many lazy afternoons by the pool in the lush surroundings. We rented a golf cart for our stay for trips to town and exploring different beaches. I highly recommend this property and look forward to returning.
Chris's home is even more beautiful than pictured! Located at the top of a hill it felt very private. The pool, outdoor eating area, and views from the bedroom windows were our favorite parts of the home. We did not rent a golf cart and enjoyed the up and down walks to town, however comfortable shoes were definitely needed. Chris was a wonderful host and was very accessible for questions both before and during our stay. His restaurant and activity recommendations were very useful to navigate all the options around town. I highly recommend renting this home and hope we we will have the chance to return!
Wonderful experience, beautiful space, convenient walk to town and great local food and activity recommendations from the host. Que bien!
The house was beautiful. Exceeding our expectations. Short walk to town which we appreciated after big meals we cooked at home in the fully stocked kitchen or in town at the amazing collection of restaurants. We will be back. Thanks for the fantastic getaway Chris!
Outstanding. If you think the photos are good, wait until you see reality! Absolutely gorgeous, private house and pool/garden--the property feels like your own private resort. Curtains and swimsuits optional! And the open-air master bathroom is enchanting--so lovely. Wonderful, responsive host who provided excellent house notes as well as tips for vacationing in Sayulita. Especially appreciated the restaurant recommendations. 2nd bedroom converts to twin beds only, so good for kids (but probably not a 2nd couple). We looked around at other places in Sayulita, and think this one is the best. Can't wait to return!
I'm a graduate of UCLA Engineering and was the Planning Director for the San Francisco Bay Area's regional transportation planning agency for 20+ years (now retired). My wife and I live in a golf community in the northern part of the Bay Area near the Napa wine region. I enjoy golf, travel, bike riding, hiking, and most all outdoor activities. We bought our house in Sayulita in 2006 and love to make improvements each time we are down. We've had many wonderful guests over the years, and it's always a pleasure to get to know each one.
