Allihies is at the western tip of the Beara Peninsula. It enjoys spectacular Atlantic views and sunsets. Despite it's remoteness it has a strong mining heritage and history which adds to the uniqueness of this little known gem. The landscape is rugged and beautiful and attracts many artists and photographers. Music is a regular feature in the pubs of the village where the main draw is good company and good conversation.
The village also has a petrol station, grocery store, post office, modern mine museum with cafe and art gallery.
Situated on the Beara way this is a walkers paradise. There are many walks for the novice and experienced walkers and much to appeal to all.
The village is remote and is 16k from Castletownbere, a working port and busy market town with many eateries.
Large, bright, clean and welcoming house in a great location in Allihies village. We really enjoyed our stay here for a few days and would love to come back. Peter was easy to communicate with and accomodating. Would highly recommend
Great house, very spacious, very comfortable beds. It doesn't feel like a holiday home, the kitchen has everything you need.
Allihies is a lovely village, with a great pub in the town that serves very good food (O'Neill's).
The Beara Peninsula is the beautiful place I have ever been, and this house is a great base from which to explore it.
The house was fantastic. Everything was spotless. The rooms were really well furnished, large, airy, light and bright. The house provided everything you could possibly need. The location is excellent as it is right in the middle of the village and the views are wonderful. Allihies is a wonderful place that we go to every summer and from now on we hope we can get this house for our stay.
Everything was as described. Very big house with great view. We enjoyed the pub close to the house and the beach a few minutes away. The house was really clean. Our children enjoyed the place as well.
Everything was as described in the listing - perfect location within Allihies. Very simple access to keys, and cleaner also available if required.
What a fantastic week in Allihes in a beautiful home and that's what this house is, lots of thought and effort have gone into this home and it is above and beyond what you usually find in a rental property. A fantastic kitchen fully equipped, while you prepare an evening meal you are looking out at the sun set in the west. All rooms are spacious and I was particularly taken with the memory foam mattress :-). We were met as planned by the lovely Ulli who was available should we need her through out our stay. The home is very child friendly with a secure spacious back garden. I would love to come back next year.
We haven't met, but the house was absolutely perfect. Clean, spacious, and at a stunning location. Thank you.
