Self contained 2 bedroom apartment on the edge of Lake Rotorua looking towards Mokoia Is, city and surrounding hills and farms.
Magnificent sunsets, 15min from city centre, minutes to great mt biking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, geothermal spas.

Minutes from all major attractions and activities. Safe for swimming, great bird life. The owners live upstairs and have a vast knowledge of tourism "things to do" in Rotorua and are passionate about the history and Maori culture.
Guests have free access to kayaks, stand up paddle board and fishing grear. They may roam around the garden and along the beach at their leisure.
Interaction with Guests
Gay and Bill enjoy meeting and talking with their guests when appropriate for both. Having spent more than 20 years living around the Pacific Islands and traveling the world they have some fine artifacts and stories to tell.
We have neighbours who have traveled widely and like to interact with our guests. They may invite them out fishing or for a wine.
No public transport is available however the hosts will take guests into the city or arrange for a tour etc to pick them up from the gate or the beach if they want to go fishing or helicopter sight seeing.
Other Things to Note
As we dont charge a cleaning fees to keep the price reasonable we would appreciate guests leaving the place as tidy as possible, dished done and put away etc.
We recycle our rubbish and would appreciate guests following the guidelines set down in the welcome book.
We can do long term special deals if staying longer than a week.
Smoking out side is ok. No pets. If using the spa to be out by 9:30pm. When checking out put linen into the laundry and wash up dishes leave the kitchen tidy.
About the Host, Gay
I am married to Bill, we have 2 children and son and his wife and 2 children live in Squamish BC Canada and a daughter living and working in Melbourne Australia. I am a retired teacher and since returning to NZ have been involved in tourism. I am a life member of Maori in Tourism Rotorua, we have been in hosting for many years and involved in community activities. I am a walking guide for Kia ora Guided walks and I self publish and market bi lingual children's stories written by Bill's cousin. These are very popular stories telling the history of this region with CD attached.
Bill is an accountant with his own business in the city mostly involved with Maori Trusts. He has a fine tenor voice and enjoys opera. Gay and Bill have produced Opera in the Pa for 15 years a unique event set on the steps of a meeting house at Te Puia featuring Maori and Pacific opera singers.
We both enjoy walking and Gay has her own paddle board and kayaks. Bill grew up in the village of Ohinemutu and is chairman of the vestry of St Faiths church.
We both enjoy sharing a meal and good wine with friends. Sport of any kind is enjoyed by us both.
