The space

High-end professionally remodeled split level interior space with 2 master suites, each with their own bath and a small 3rd bedroom/den with an oversize leather chair sofabed suitable for an extra guest. Large stone fireplace in living room and private deck overlooking the wooded lot. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac location that backs directly up to Tahoe XC trails and Burton Creek State Park for winter time hiking, cross country skiing or snow shoeing. The home is pet friendly for well behaved animals and their responsible owners. There is a 4 night minimum stay.

Guest access

Great location adjacent to Burton Creek State Park with direct access from the backyard to the main trails at the Tahoe XC cross country ski/hike/ mountain bike center. Tahoe XC is located a block away on Country Club Drive. You pass right by on your way to the cabin. The cabin is located near many of the world class ski resorts of Lake Tahoe's North Shore. Alpine Meadows - 5 miles, 11 minutes away. Squaw Valley USA - 8.75 miles, 15 minutes away. Homewood Mountain Resort - 9.77 miles, Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort - 13.5 miles, 21 minutes away. All of them offer excellent options for a wide range of skill levels. Squaw is the largest ski area and has the biggest mountain. There is also a very nice "village" with lots of shopping and restaurants options near the base of the resort. Northstar is known as the most family friendly ski resort option.

Interaction with guests

I travel frequently for work and am not usually available to meet you on arrival. There is a lock box on the front door with a key and I am always reachable via text or VM. The housekeeper lives right around the corner and is always available to help out for urgent needs.

The neighborhood

The cabin is at the back of a small court in a quiet residential area at the top of the Highlands area near Dollar Point. It is about 3 miles from downtown Tahoe City and 3/4 mile from CA-28, North Lake Blvd., the road that circles the lake. Most of the neighbors are full time residents and will welcome you to experience Tahoe as a "local".

Getting around

There is a flat paved driveway that can accommodate 2 cars. In winter months, the driveway is plowed by a local snow removal company to keep it clear for parking. The Tahoe bus line (TART) has a Dollar Point stop near the 7-11 about 3/4 mile away along the main highway that circles the lake.

Other things to note

There is a brand new wall mounted LG flat screen in the living room with full HD digital cable and high speed wireless internet access. There is also a separate DVD player if you need it. A compact stereo system with cable stereo and CD player is on the small table directly under the TV. Manuals for the TV, internet access and stereo are in the basket under the AV equipment. Extra phone and Ipad chargers are also located in the basket under the AV equipment. The kitchen is equipped with slab granite, a Sub Zero fridge, Bosch dishwasher, stainless sink and a Frigidaire premium series range and microwave. It is fully stocked for cooking, including both basics and an occasional rotating inventory of food and beverages. Please feel free to consume available items in the kitchen. I only ask that you treat everything as your own, replace what you use and don't leave perishables behind. There is a small pub height granite table in the kitchen which serves as the dining area. It has 4 chairs and suitable for casual dining or enjoying morning coffee. I usually have some firewood and Duraflame logs next to the fireplace. Please be courteous and replace what you use so the next guests can enjoy it as well.

The house is just great. The little features- like nice linens and towels, excellent cookware and comfy furniture that's not fussy but very attractive-fun to see Nordic skiers passing by out the back. Overall- a great place!

The cabin is perfect! Scott was a wonderful host. The location is great as we were able to drive to three different ski areas without much additional travel.

Scott's cabin was absolutely perfect for our Tahoe stay! It was cozy, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and it was incredible to watch the snow fall from the main room large windows. We can't wait to stay here again!

A must STAY, Scott communicated flawlessly through the entire stay. His Cabin in the Woods, is just that, quiet, peaceful, scenic, close to all restaurants in town, and activities around from hiking to some of the best skiing in the country. Very clean, comfortable and with all amenities you may need for your stay is what Scott's cabin offers. If anyone is thinking about staying in Tahoe, be sure to put Scott's cabin on your list for a MUST stay to make your trip thoroughly complete. Five stars for Scott's Cabin in the Woods... MP
