This is my self-contained, one-bedroom, second-floor flat located in Whitechapel, in East London. It's a bright and airy flat, in a private walled garden setting, with loads of local attractions and excellent transport links to the rest of London. I've just redecorated throughout, with new kitchen, carpet and appliances.
It's pretty compact at about 400 square feet, but the 1-bed layout means it will easily accommodate a party of 2 or 3, with a double bed in the bedroom and a single sofa-bed in the lounge. There's plenty of storage and hanging space in the bedroom. Central heating throughout, and clean towels and bed linen are provided.
The bathroom contains a W.C, a tub with electric shower, and a wash basin. The galley-style kitchen's fully equipped, with a new gas hob, fan oven, microwave, coffee machine and all the kit. Ironing board and iron provided. There's a washing machine for your laundry needs.
In the living room, there's a 32" flat-screen TV with a Bluray player. It's also internet connected and you'll have access to my Netflix account for streaming. This setup can also play music and video from a USB, so you can bring your movie collection. We have broadband with wifi and ethernet connections (if you're old school).
There are some great pubs and restaurants right on the doorstep, as well as the Genesis cinema. We have a small Tesco, a 24-hour off licence and a huge Sainsburys supermarket all within 5 minutes walk. Transport-wise, we're 5-7 minutes walk from Whitechapel, Stepney Green (District, Hammersmith & City lines), and Bethnal Green (Central line) tube stations. Less than one minute's walk from a bus stop with 24-hour services to the City, West End and beyond.
The flat is also within an easy walk of the Queen Mary University campus and teaching hospitals, as well as the London Metropolitan University campus at Aldgate.
Brick Lane and Shoreditch are within easy walking distance. There's a whole load of stuff going on in this area in the arts, the media and the tech scene, and I'd be delighted to share some personal recommendations - I lived here full-time for over 10 years myself, and probably still would if I didn't have kids. As it is, I'm here for a few nights a week, and looking to offset some of the costs by sharing my space via Airbnb. Guests can also borrow my guest card for the Tate galleries, allowing free entry for 2 into exhibitions and the exclusive members' rooms. In the opposite direction, we're quite close to the 2012 Olympic site.
Standard check in time is after 2.00 PM, and check out time by 11.00 AM. However, we can be flexible depending on whether there are guests staying either side, so if you want to arrive earlier or leave later, just ask! I do not charge additional cleaning fees or damage deposit above the regular price.
Whitechapel is a great neighborhood in London. There is an abundance of culture and the flat is near restaurants and grocery stores. Peter was a great host with detailed instructions even sleep deprived travelers can understand. We were extremely comfortable and felt safe in the area. The tube station was right down the street and came in handy after long nights. Peter helped us when we couldn't figure out the stove or the voltage conversions and he was patient with us as we learned how to live the London way. I would definitely recommend!
Gracias!!
Great apartment in a good location. I visited London this past weekend with my boyfriend and we enjoyed this apartment. Peter was very friendly and accomodating, agreeing to meet me early on our check in date so that I could drop off my luggage before picking up my bf at the airport.
The apartment was clean and spacious enough for two people. The location is close to the white chapel underground/overgound station and there were a few restaurants and pubs nearby. The internet was fast and reliable.
The flat was great! Very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed plus some. Perfect layout and space for three adults. The wifi connection was great and easy to connect to. Getting to the flat and finding the key was very easy thanks to detailed instructions left by Peter. I would love to stay here again if I returned to London.
It 's a very nice flat , like in the ad ! Clear details and information from P.J. .
Very convenient (next to the buses , tube station and supermarket) .
We had a pleasant stay in an interesting , unusual area , off the beaten track ... not far from the mainstream places ....
We had a great stay at Peter's place. It came as advertised and easily accommodated 3 adults. Peter's instructions were clear and very detailed. We had no trouble finding the apartment upon our arrival. The apartment included everything we needed for our stay. The large market at the corner was an added convenience. Transportation was convenient and the ongoing street market also made for easy shopping to and from the train station. I would definitely recommend this apartment.
The apartment was perfect! Comfortable and had everything we needed. Close to everything, but quiet. 5 min from a tube station, 1 minute from supermarket. We enjoyed our stay very much, definitely will stay again!
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at this cozy apartment. It's perfect for 3 and has everything necessary to make you feel at home. Metro station is only 5 minutes walking and supermarket is just around the corner, which was great for us. I'll recommend it to any friends looking for a place to stay in London.
PJ's apartment is a little London gem. It's in a great location, very well connected to central / West London via the Central Line (Bethnal Green) and District Line (Whitechapel), plus much of the East London highlights (Hackney / Shoreditch / Bethnal Green etc.) are easily accessible on foot. The heating ensured we were cosy and the flat was very clean. Only small drawback is the shower (very low pressure, tricky if you have hair like mine!!) Thank you PJ for your swift reply to all emails and your flexibility on check in / out times. I would definitely recommend.
