This accomodation was a great place that provided some peace in a very fast-paced city! Albe was helpful in giving us some orientation in the city and especially accomodating when we ended up arriving later than expected! I reccomend taking advantage of the breakfast on the roof terrace as a perfect start to a day of exploring Marrakech! :)
The Rockech riad is a nice alternative to its big brother, Riad Bamileke, if you're on a budget. The two Italian hosts are welcoming, flexible and very helpful. Their english skills are great. Recommended.
Our stay at the Rockech was pleasant. Alberto is very nice and provided excellent suggestions for our one day stay at Marrakech. The room is big enough to accommodate 2 and the shared bathroom is well maintained. As the only windows are within the Riad (non facing the outside streets) it is quiet as you will not be disturbed by outside noises; however this means the ventilation is compensated and it gets stuffy especially when other guests smoke within the lobby.
This place is GORGEOUS!!!! We were made to feel right at home as soon as we got there, too! Alberto, Matteo & Somine were great hosts, they made sure we were comfortable and well looked after.
They have 3 riads and we stayed in the smaller of them, a beautiful, traditional riad. The room was large, the bed comfortable and the shared bathroom was spacious. All were very clean!
We took the opportunity to enjoy the dinner they offer at the main riad - a wonderful experience! Literally fine dining in the privacy of your own roof top garden terrace. The food was traditional (we opted for a chicken tajine, which was prepared by one of the locals), abundant(!) and truly delicious. We were also able to order a lovely bottle of Moroccan wine, in an otherwise non-alcoholic drinking society, which was an extra touch that we appreciated very much.
We just happened to mention that we were interested trying a local Hammam (bath-house) and Alberto suggested that we try one local to the riad, which turned out to be nothing less than luxury...! - at the same price as any other.
The breakfast is fantastic! Again, delicious & abundant!
Alberto was also very helpful in helping us organise the next stage of our holiday, going to Essaouira. In fact, they were all very forthcoming in offering us tips for getting around Marrakech, and Morocco in general.
We couldn't recommend this place, or these guys, more! Class, style & incredible value for money!
