Jakarta has a vast range of food available at hundreds of eating complexes located all over the city, from modest street-side foodstalls and traveling vendors to the high-class expensive restaurants. The traditional Padang restaurants and low-budget Javanese Warteg (Warung Tegal) foodstalls are ubiquitous in the capital. Next to a myriad of selections of Indonesian food and regional specialties from all over Indonesia, there is also international food, especially Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian, American, French, Middle Eastern, and modern fusion food
Internet is available in the unit.

All went fine. Indra answers very fast and accurate-relevant info. Location is good to taxi to center. Jakarta is not a pedestrian city. Great Chinese restaurants 5 mins by taxi and fruit market accessible day time walking south of hotel in parallel street.
A comfortable place to stay, but the neighborhood is terrible. Using a taxi right from the hotel doors is highly recommended. The flat lacks such things as electric cattle and hair dryer. No chances to hide from the air conditioner flow when in bed. Long waiting for elevator. The good thing is the location - building can be reached from airport by toll road without stucking in jams, city center is 15 minutes away by the taxi, Ancol park is also close.
The host was responsive and helpful, the key handover was easy.
This accommodation is recommended for short stays for couples without children or for single travelers.
Hello Alexander, the Mangga Dua neighborhood is a shopping center area which is very busy during the day. The neighborhood is fairly common as any other places in Jakarta residential area. Eventhough it has many alley in the neighborhood, walking in the major street in front of the Best Western hotel to Mangga Dua mall, Mangga Dua square, and ITC Mangga Dua is safe even during the night. Electric cattle is available on the upper cabinet next to the tv. About the ac, we do have an ac deflector that can be used upon request.
Great location if wanting to be near the airport and Mangga Dua shopping. The host is very accommodating.
Although host Indra was not there in person, he made sure everything was taken care of. He replied fast when i had questions. The apartment is just like the pictures, comfortable enough. The neighbourhood i didn't really enjoy especially during the night can feel unsafe. Though i do recommend because of the extra services that come with the hotel.
The apartment was convenient and comfortable. It was too far to walk to the the mall or local shops and eateries. But I can't be sure as there was no information how to get around nearby . The reception was fine with Indra's friend.
The stay at Indra's apartment was good enough for our needs during our five days in Jakarta. Here are the positives:
*It is situated within walking-distance to Mangga Dua Square so you can do a spot of grocery shopping there if you need to (there's a Carrefour hypermarket there). Other malls are also nearby, but do not expect brand name shopping. Sunda Kelapa, Ancol, Old Batavia, and Glodok are not too far away by taxi.
*The kitchenette was useful for preparation of simple meals. The air-conditioning was strong and cool, very nice after spending a whole day out in the hot weather.
*The king-size bed, which is actually made up of two single beds joined together, was comfortable enough.
* Good, stable wifi connection in the room. Cable tv.
* The hotel staff at reception are very helpful and don't hesitate to ask them for any help.
* Bluebird taxis are readily available in front of the hotel entrance. You can ask the hotel to call one up for no extra charge if there are none there.
However, there are a few things you may want to take note of if you intend to stay here:
* The hotel in which the apartment is is situated in a more impoverished neighbourhood. Although walking around and exploring the area during the day is absolutely fine (the road in front of the hotel gets quite busy), it's perhaps less advisable in the evenings and night as it is very dark.
* There was an unpleasant smell in the room. It could be due to the drainage system. The LPG gas tank cabinet, when opened, also had a strong unpleasant smell (it wasn't gas).
* On the night we arrived, we saw a small live cockroach by the sink which I proceeded to kill. I saw several other dead ones in the LPG gas tank cabinet and elsewhere.
* Bring a shower cap if you don't want your hair to get wet when you shower. The shower head is fixed to the wall.
* There was a soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower, but it was empty when we were there. So, bring your own.
The host, Indra, was courteous in our conversations together although he can be a bit slow in replying. He was kind to let us check out late as our flight was late in the evening without any extra payment. Although he was not in town when we arrived his cousin, Lully, was there to check us in.
All in all, it was a good stay for the price but if you intend to spend more time around central Jakarta, then perhaps there are better options.
Hi Perry, sorry for the empty shampoo and soap in the dispenser. Lully must have forgotten to refill them. About the cockroach, I have the pest control done monthly. I will make sure it is checked again. The same thing with the drainage system. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Hello, my name is Indra. I do have several studio units in Best Western Mangga Dua Hotel and Residence in Mangga Dua Jakarta, Indonesia. The unit is fully furnished and has all the 4 stars amenities since it is in the same building with the Best Western Hotel. The only different between the hotel and my unit is the floor location. You can use all the hotel amenities while you stay in the unit,. It is located within walking distance from one of the biggest shopping area in southeast asia. If you are a bargain hunters, you will like staying in the area since you can walk to the Mangga Dua shopping center. It is also located less than 2km from the Ancol beach. Ancol is the biggest beach recreational facility in Jakarta. I also have another studio unit in Thamrin City complex. If you like staying close to the city center, you may want to consider this unit.
