Ubud is considered as the cultural and artistic center of tourism on the island of Bali
The main street is Jalan Raya Ubud, which runs east-west through the center of town. Two long roads, Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Hanoman, extend south from Jalan Raya Ubud. Puri Saren Agung is a large palace located at the intersection of Monkey Forest and Raya Ubud roads. The home of Tjokorda Gede Agung Sukawati, the last "king" of Ubud, it is now occupied by his descendants and dance performances are held in its courtyard. It was also one of Ubud's first hotels, dating back to the 1930s.
The Ubud Monkey Forest is a sacred nature reserve located near the southern end of Jalan Monkey Forest. It houses a temple and approximately 340 Crab-eating Macaque monkeys.
Ubud tourism focuses on culture, yoga and nature. In contrast to the main tourist area in southern Bali, the Ubud area has forests, rivers, cooler temperatures and less congestion although traffic has increased dramatically in the 21st century. A number of smaller "boutique"-style hotels are located in and around Ubud, which commonly offer spa treatments or treks up nearby mountains.
The Moon of Pejeng, in nearby Pejeng, is the largest single-cast bronze kettle drum in the world, dating from circa 300BC. It is a popular destination for tourists interested in local culture, as is the 11th century Goa Gajah, or 'Elephant Cave', temple complex.
The Blanco Renaissance Museum is also located in the town

We stayed in Villa D'Bisma for 4 nights from 9th August and it was just an okay and average stay. Our ariport pick-up was smooth and we're received by Florent upon our arrival at the Villa.
The Villa is spacious but it gets dirty easily although after cleaning. The internet was just good for surfing the websites and not for viewing videos or online news. And if 2 persons are on the internet it would be very slow. There is not cable tv programme only a DVD player which I think it's a huge minus point. Most Villa in Bali provides cable tv progrrames. We've been to Bali a lot of times, and sometimes twice a year so we know!! Perhaps Danny and Florent can consider installing a decent cable tv programme in the villa.
There are some confusion regarding the breakfast which we weren't brief accordingly. Please ask the host about it so that you won't get confuse like we do. We were asked to pay for our breakfast twice and we had to informed the Maha Cafe people to check this payment matter with Florent.
We didn't use the pool at all because the water is too cold.
Will I come back? Maybe ....
Nevertheless, thank you for the hospitality.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Ubud and at Villa D'Bisma. The villa is spacious and clean, and the private pool area is great. The living room/kitchen does not have A/C so we did not use the space very much. The villa is away from the noise of central Ubud, but you do get your share of bird noise in the morning.
The shortcut to Monkey Forest Road is convenient and will put you in the main part of Ubud in 5 minutes, but bring a light of some kind if you walk in at night as the path is not lit.
Dany & Florent easily accommodated our late arrival to the villa and arranged our transfer to the airport at the end of our stay. The villa was cleaned well daily. Would definitely recommend this place to travelers to Ubud.
Nice, welcoming host, everything went smooth. Willa was ok, nice quiet place at the end of Bisma street, just few minutes walk to Monkey Forest.
Beautiful Villa with rice paddy views and privacy. Would return, highly recommended.
a very last minute decision to switch to this villa and we were not disappointed at all. Nice outdoor pool with deck chairs. Big bedroom with ensuite bathroom that has an outdoor shower! Kitchen and living room could have been cleaner but it was no biggie. Florent is very prompt in replying and dropped us with water and fruits soon after our arrival.
We spent 3 nights in this Villa. Florent met us at the Villa and explained how everything worked. It was a beautiful and quiet villa, with a private plunge pool. It was nice being away from the commotion of Ubud. The view of the rice patties was very pretty, but there is some construction being done next door. The open-air shower was amazing, and you could see many stars at night. The A/C could have been a little stronger, but it cooled the room enough for us. The living room had a fan, but no A/C. Internet was very slow, but adequate for email (not video).
The villa was at the end of Jalan Bisma, and we made the mistake of walking up it the first night. Instead, definitely walk through the short path to Jalan Monkey Forest and then up. It is a good 15 min to the true center of town (market/temple), but lots available within 5-10 min.
We needed laundry done, and Florent arranged for pick-up and delivery which was great! He left a cellphone for local calls, and to contact him at any time.
The villa is so ideally located - in a quiet pocket but four mins walk from the heart of Jalan Monkey Forest. Dany and Florent were so helpful and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay.
