----- IMPORTANT NOTES -----
Please note that our house is shared between at least 5 and up guests at the same time. Bathrooms and common spaces are shared. But yet the house is very calm because everybody is out all the time in the city!
Please note also that we don't live there anymore because we have our own private appartments, and because this place has become with time our job. We rent on Airbnb and we also develop in the walls of this house an Art Center since two years. So please note that during your stay it might happen that you have the chance to participate in an artistic event. We are aiming toward making live Montréal's culture itself to our tenants.
If you feel this experience is for you, jump in, you will never have experienced somthing like our place!
----- MEET THE HOUSE! -----
Lamps and weird knick-knacks dwelling with antique furniture and cosy sofas, torn tapestries, crooked hardwood floors and squeaking steps and doors makes all the charm and the warmth of the place. Built in the end of 19th century, The house has been preserved from aging, but in respect of its past, which makes the place very "storytelling"...
Amongst many vocations this place had, we keep artefacts from a past Chinese food restaurant and a retro women's clothes shop. Other non house-related artefacts fill the house. Discover all this while coming to our place in Montreal. And ask one of your hosts to translate what the walls and objects don't tell clearly to everyone...

The appartment is in a very good location, so that all the sightseeing places can be reched by foot.
The room was very big and clean. Although there first was a little misunderstanding respectif the number of persons staying over, the renter reacted very quickly to resolve the problem. We even were allowed to check in early and got help with calling a taxi for the day of our departure. All in all very nice stay, thank you Michaél!
My boyfriend and I stayed at here for two weeks, and absolutly loved it! It has charm, style and still very casual.
It's it not a first class hotel but an old building with soul, leaning stairs, and old wallpaper. Very welcoming, artsy, spacious and beautiful furniture.
It was absolutly fantastic! Really bohemian (in a good way), boudoir style!
Neomiè was an splendid host, and we would absolutly love to go back here next time!
Perfect location, unique apartment, great hosts. Was a great experience staying with Noémie & Michael. :)
A lovely space with lovely hosts. Noemie was quick to let us in and show us where to find free parking. The location is really convenient, as it's close to downtown and only a couple of blocks from a metro station. The main space and bathrooms were cleaned quite frequently as well, which was definitely a plus! Would highly recommend!
This is a very clean, unique space centrally located in the Latin Quarter/Gay Village neighborhood of Montreal. We did not meet Noemie, but Michael was very accommodating of our lateness and lack of cell phone reception - meeting us a few hours later than expected to check us in. The apartment has a late 19th century French boarding house vibe with several individual rooms, shared bathrooms, and a swanky lounge. The room was very clean, but the building itself is a bit run down, and the boudoir-style room has poor ventilation without an option to open the one window. (This was especially stuffy over Labor Day, but might be less problematic in the winter or fall.) The bathroom was also very clean and comfortable, although if the house is booked then be prepared to wait your turn. Everyone staying in the apartment over the holiday weekend was very friendly - some cooked in the evenings, or shared a drink in the lounge. Do keep in mind that if you drive, you will most likely have to pay for parking ($24/day) in a garage, and Rue St. Catherine may be closed to drivers.
We were beyond thrilled with our stay. 4 of us shared the double room with 2 beds for our stay during the Osheaga Music Festival. The house was full, yet we didn't notice the other people, except when trying to use the washrooms.
The house was a block from the metro station, which was one stop from Parc Jean Drapeau- perfect! We were also in the heart of the nightlife, and were surrounded by great restaurants and cafe's to eat at.
We were also able to park just around the corner for the full weekend for $60. We likely could have found something cheaper, but we didn't mind, since it was so close to the house and we are used to Toronto parking prices.
Great location, great hosts, great stay!!
Great place to stay if you accept -- as we gladly did -- basic accommodations. If you are fussy, and like neat flowery wallpapers and stylish carpets on the floor, this place is not for you. But id you have, or have kept, your backpacker spirit, and like a friendly place, with a clean shared bathroom, and an excellent location -- then go for it!
We had a wonderful experience staying here. It was great to meet other international travellers and be enveloped by the artistic scene at Labarque.
