Great apartment right on the harbour of the Scottish fishing village of Eyemouth, a conservation village full of wynds and alleys, pubs and good restaurants serving fish and shellfish straight from the sea! Amazing views of the harbour.
We believe in doing things right! We pay VAT and tax on our listings, we are professional people with appropriate insurance and we pay everyone who works for us at least the living wage not the minimum wage!
Sitting squarely on the harbourfront this is a lovely apartment in which to enjoy the special village of Eyemouth. Enjoy watching the seals, the swans and the fishing boats from the apartment windows. Convenient for all the village. Elegantly furnished with wifi. 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 6 guests, but best for 4. Additional bed is a small double sofabed on the landing (can be moved if required). There are also pull out trundle beds in the twin bedroom and a day bed on the landing and a chaise longe in the master bedroom.
2 minute walk to beach and 2 seconds to pubs,restaurants and great cafes.
Here is a rather pedantic but completely accurate description of the apartment.
The entrance is via a private main door on the harbour. Its a working harbour, though not as busy as Eyemouth would like! There are seals, swans and boats in the harbour. Pleasure craft and working fishing boats. There can be noise when the fishing boats are unloading. Generally its very quiet.
There is a hallway on entering large enough for coats and pushchair storage. One flight of 13 stairs takes to you the first floor. There is a large bathroom on this floor with both shower and bath. Toiletries including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and soap are provided. Bath and hand towels, a hairdryer and bath mats are provided. There is a large walk in cupboard with high chair, cot, hoover, etc and coat/wetsuit storage.
A long hall provides access to the kitchen and lounge. All floors are stripped and varnished hard wood, the walls have lots of artwork including local artists.
The large double windowed kitchen has a stoves electric oven and a gas hob. There is a microwave, washing machine/tumble dryer. The kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans, casserole and oven dishes. Lots of glasses, mugs, cultery, crockery. All cleaning materials and washing powder are provided along with cloths and dishtowels.
The kitchen is some 20 feet long. At one end there is a glass dining table with 6 leather chairs. There is also a desk and chair.
There are excellent views to the harbour from both windows.
The lounge has a two seater and and L shaped sofa in black velour fabric. It was new in 2017. There is a good selection of lighting with various lamps. There is a smart TV on the wall with freeview and lots of cable channels. There are side tables of rosewood.
A retro gplan unit stores lots of books, games and DVDs.
Orgional and local artwork adorns the walls. There is a very realistic real flame gas fire .Again there is excellent views of the harbour.
There is a slight Scottish flair to this room with a tartan wool rug and Scottish pictures.
Another staircase takes you to the 2 bedrooms and showeroom.
The master bedroom has a double four poster bed. The mattress was replaced 2016. The bedding is replaced every year. The bed has 4 pillows with pillow protectors and a 12 tog duvet. There are 2 mattress protectors. The mattress and pillow protectors are laundered every changeover as of course is all the bedding. There is a chaise long which can be used as a bed for children of 10 or less. There is lots of storage space. The room is very bright with a large velux window with views over the rooftops and another large window with views all the way to gunsgreen house. There are black out blinds on all the windows.
There is a large landing area. One side of the landing area has a day bed and the other has a portable foam double bed.
There is a twin bedroom. The beds in this room are full 3 foot adult single beds. The mattresses were replaced in 2017. Again the beds have 2 pillows each with pillow protectors and mattress protectors. There is loads of storage and again its very bright with lots of windows all with black out blinds.
A shower room completes this floor.
There is no outside space with this apartment.
The wifi is high speed unlimited fiber.
We try really hard to ensure that every guest has a 5 star experience. Please dont confuse this with us stating that the apartment is a 5 star luxury apartment, it is not! It is a cosy well equipped, comfortable apartment in a very convenient, scenic location.
