Where you’ll be

Salt Lake City, Utah, United States

The Eclectic & Eccentric Avenues neighborhood is adjacent to downtown and is one of Salt Lake City's oldest residential districts. It is home to artists and students and professors and lawyers and businesspeople and … you name it.

The streets are narrow and the blocks are short by Salt Lake City standards, and the architecture is diverse, to say the least. Beautiful Victorian houses stand next to little brick bungalows. Frame cottages can be found in the shadows of apartment buildings.

Tucked between City Creek Canyon and the University of Utah, it is remarkably quiet, yet quite lively.

If you're looking for a unique neighborhood that offers a progressive, artsy environment and trendy, modern shops, you'll dig the bohemian vibe of The Avenues. This neighborhood is an interesting mix of traditional and modern.

The Avenues is home to Lindsey Park, which is a 15-acre park consisting of ball diamonds, a pavilion, and an off-leash area for dogs. Another area here that residents enjoy is the City Creek Canyon Trail. Beginning at State Street and 2nd Avenue, this biking, walking, and running path extends 5.8 miles north to Bonneville Boulevard. The path is surrounded by beautiful, dense foliage, making it a great escape from the heat in warmer months. Of course, Utah is best known for its skiing, and the residents here are just minutes away from the best snow on earth. In the warmer months, residents also enjoy hiking, biking, and fishing in the nearby mountains.

Born and raised in Utah, my wife Andra and I, have been married 20 years and have four wonderful children. Together we run two small businesses which definitely keep us hopping. When I'm not in the office, you can find me out on one of hundreds of mountain trails along the Wasatch Front, running and exploring.
