Interaction with Guests
When not traveling, Geraldine & Joe reside in a separate wing of their home w/ their own private entrance, kitchen & living space. We greatly enjoy each guest. We or a manager are available to assist you in any way possible.
We are located in Marin County in the forested, tranquil San Geronimo Valley, surrounded by rolling hills, douglas fir, oak and bay trees. There are excellent hiking trails, golf and restaurants within walking distance or short drive.
If you or your children have not seen the giant redwood trees, that truly is a must do. In this regard, our home is about 8 minutes from Samuel P Taylor State Park, where there are magnificent redwood trees, many right next to the Lagunitas Creek. This experience is highly similar to visiting Muir Woods but you do not need to park, take a bus and wait in long lines with a huge crowd of people. This park is a mystical place … children & adults can walk right into the hallowed out base of some giant redwood trees. Plan a picnic ... the kids love playing in the creek.
The many beaches near us offer adults and kids great joy!
The village of Stinson Beach, has a spectacular beach and the quaint town features good restaurants, art galleries, surf shop, etc.
Point Reyes National Seashore is about 15 minutes from our Lagunitas home. It was established to preserve and protect wilderness, natural ecosystems, and cultural resources along the diminishing undeveloped coastline of the western United States.
The Seashore is a sanctuary for myriad plant and animal species and for the human spirit—for discovery, inspiration, solitude, and recreation—and exists as a reminder of the human connection to the land.
Marine biologists have identified nearly a third of all known marine mammal species in the waters surrounding Point Reyes. Blue whales and humpback whales feed there during spring and summer months. Gray whales migrate past the shores twice a year on their round trip from Alaska to Baja.
The Point Reyes National Seashore Visitor Center on Bear Valley Road is a fantastic opportunity for children & adults. There is a natural history museum, maps of all the hiking trails, Miwok Indian cultural experiences AND, across the road, the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Trail … it’s just a short hike, but very memorable.
On the way to Stinson Beach is the "Five Brooks Horseback Riding" facility.
Nearby Tomales Bay features “Blue Waters Kayaking”, a full service kayaking outfitter.
Local Restaurants & Deli:
Lagunitas Grocery & Deli is just at the bottom of our hill. It features home cooked deli items.
“Arti Restaurant", also just at the bottom of our hill, features Indian fare and gets RAVE reviews.
"Two Bird Cafe at the Valley Inn", about a mile away, is very fine American food.
The locals love it for casual breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a charming outdoor dining deck. In season, they serve fresh oysters.
The town of Fairfax is about 15 minutes away ... LOTS of great live music, movie theater, restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops.
The village of Nicasio, about 10-15 minutes away, features the "Rancho Nicasio” restaurant, an old fashioned saloon type of building. Robert Redford hangs out there when he is visiting George Lucas down the road. The "Rancho" has lunches, dinners and music in the evenings ... on the weekends they host live lawn concerts with BBQ food ... makes for a GREAT day!
Lots of fresh, organic, local food, cheeses and organic markets ... no shortage of gluten free offerings.
There are glorious hiking trails right from our driveway ... do a search and all of them will pop up. We're also happy to give you ideas when you arrive.

Geraldine and Joe were wonderful hosts. They made us feel very welcomed by graciously opening up their space with warmth and kindness. The house was very clean, beautiful and had a very positive energy to it. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at their Lagunitas home!
We had a wonderful time! Geraldine was a great host, full of information and made us feel truly welcome. The place is as described. The grounds are beautiful and made for a serene, relaxing atmosphere. You really feel like you have gone to a retreat. The home is tucked away at the top of a hill. I would recommend arriving during the day in order to get familiar with the one lane road. We never had any issues with other cars, but it does take some getting used to. We definitely plan on revisiting Lagunitas.
By far one of the most spectacular places we've ever been! Geraldine gave us all the information we needed and was responsive and attentive. The place was clean and beautiful and the setting was amazing.
Geraldine's home far exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a quiet place outside of the city, I highly recommend their home in Lagunitas. The pictures don't do it justice. The property is huge, the garden is beautiful, the pool is relaxing, and the putting green is challenging. Great getaway for the family or a group of friends. We look forward to returning.
This is an amazing property in a beautiful location, and provided us with the perfect getaway over a long weekend. The list of amenities is almost too long to list, and it was such a lovely home with so many things to do that we rarely left the property. Geraldine was a gracious host, very communicative, and was readily available to answer any questions. A really superb vacation getaway - we hope to return soon!
Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. The house was absolutely beautiful- pictures don't do justice. The views from the deck, putting green, meditation house and hot tub were incredible. The house was perfectly furnished with all the amenities. 10 minutes from the redwoods & Sam Taylor national park and 30 minutes from several beach options. We can't wait to find another occasion to share this place with more friends and family.
We rented the house for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful visit. Our host left us wine and lots of guides on how to find things and work things. The house was very clean, attractive, and well kept. Great proximity to Point Reyes.
