This custom made floating cabin, nicknamed the Love Shack for its “tin roof”, is perfect for adventurous types looking for a unique urban camping experience on the water. The views of the Benjamin Franklin bridge are breathtaking, the calmness of the marina is relaxing, and the city location is unbeatable!

Safe and secluded spot for visiting travelers.

Sorry, no pets. No parties. No local reservations. Traveling guests only.

The space
Custom made floating home, 24’x 8’ with lofted sleeping area. The perfect place to unplug and relax after exploring the bustling city.

Due to Covid-19, we ask that guests who have been exposed to the infection or have symptoms to alert the host and cancel their reservation. We also require that guests wear face masks in the marina lobby and on the docks. No exceptions.

***Answers to FAQ’s***

*There are security cameras outside the boat. The marina has a secure entrance. The boat has a locking sliding door and a safety bar available.

*For your convenience, the boat has a sink, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, movie projector, speaker, electric blanket, AC and a space heater. Dishes, sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels are also provided.

*The boat is spray-foam insulated, so it retains heat well but the floors can still feel chilly during winter since heat rises so I suggest slippers.

*the 2 toilets, shower, and laundry facilities are in the marina lobby NOT onboard the boat. There is a “camping potty” onboard for use. I suggest flip flops for the shower since it is shared with other marina guests.

*the bed is lofted so climbing a ladder is necessary. The lofted space may not be ideal for very tall people since there is limited head room.

*the boat does not move most of the time. However, if there are storms with high winds (15mph+) it will definitely rock. Also, wake from very large passing barges at night will cause rocking throughout the marina. Bring medication for sea sickness if you are prone and check the weather before booking if this will effect you.

*there is wifi and google chromecast.

*at this time there is no free parking lot parking. Some nearby free street parking might be available if you’re lucky, Metered street parking (free at night) and nearby parking lots (~$20) are suggested. Try spot hero app to see exact prices.

*pets are not allowed

Guest access
Marinara lobby, bathrooms, laundry room, docks and the inside of the boat.

Other things to note
The bathrooms are in the lobby: 2 toilets and 1 shared shower. They are available to marina residents and guests and maintained by the marina. They are cleaned daily, however, all the marina guests and residents as well as the sail club use these bathrooms so it is possible that the bathrooms may become dirty throughout the day, in between cleanings. There is no way to mitigate this without a 24 hour bathroom attendant which is not realistic. My cleaning fee covers the expense of the hired cleaning person, cleaning supplies, and laundry service for the boat only. If the shared bathroom is bothersome to you, then I suggest you do not book because I want you to enjoy your trip.

The marina lobby, bathrooms, docks, other boats and water are out of my control as I do not own the marina so I will not issue a refund for anything unrelated to my boat specifically.

Pets are not allowed.

To make arrival and departure go smoothly, Guests must agree to read the house manual prior to arrival and to use the Check-in link on air bnb for arrival info. And to read the welcome folder onboard for check-out info and rules.

For convenience, I stock minibar items. However, the minibar items are not free and so guests must sign the minibar form and send a photo of the signed form to the host.

The projector has the following available for steaming: google chromecast, an hdmi cable (for laptop connections) and a lightning adaptor for apple iPad/iPhone. Do not take these with you.

I’m a small business owner, living in Philly. In the past, I have worked for the Four Seasons Hotels and Walt Disney World so travel & hospitality are my obsessions. I've traveled to Europe, South & Central America, China, and the Caribbean. Right now my favorite spots to visit are the finger lakes and northern Italy. I enjoy meeting new people, skiing, hiking, dining, and visiting wineries. Philly has an exciting food scene right now and I’m excited to share it with my guests :)
