Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Sheldon Castle is a registered Baldwin County Historic home. It is a unique, artistic structure right in Fairhope but secluded on a side street. The Eastern Shore Art Center is down the drive and across the street. From there you are in wonderful downtown Fairhope. The studio suite is a completely private part of Sheldon Castle with the Sheldon descendants in the rest of the home. Mosher Castle with a moat and dragon is next door. Our guests are invited to walk the grounds of both castles.

The space
We have a UV air purifier, follow enhanced cleaning guidelines.
The suite is a separate part of the castle and easily accessed with just one short step up. The vaulted ceiling with 3 beautiful exposed beams gives the room a spacious and interesting feel. The handsome & comfortable King size sleigh bed is a gift from a dear family friend. A twin bed can be brought in if a 3rd guest will be staying. Children are allowed. Toddlers are allowed after some concerns are discussed. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, double sink & microwave. There is no oven or stove top but a grill is available outside. Coffee & tea is always available. Delicious breakfast muffins are placed in the fridge upon request. The big bay window lets in the sun & view of the grounds but the blackout drapes are there for privacy when needed. We have self check in but we are near by or just a phone call or text away.

Guest access
Four comfortable patio chairs are ready for guest to use when they want to sit in the side yard or out front. Carport has motion light for night time entry and safety and turns off so not to interfere with sleep.

Other things to note
A percentage of our guests payments go to charities that help families who have been displaced by natural disasters.

There are two cats on the grounds. Kyra is a beautiful tuxedo cat who enjoys people. She belongs to Lady Paris who lives in the Gate House. Who Mi is solid black and belongs to the Rudolfs who live in the other part of Sheldon Castle. Occasionally neighborhood cats visit as well. We ask that you not allow any of them into the suite.

The castle is nestled against protected park land which has a variety birds including number of often active owls.

Dean Mosher is an internationally known historical artists. He has paintings in multiple National Parks, major Universities and the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum on the Mall in DC. His sculpture: Nature's Playground in Gautier, MS. is the largest sculpture on the Gulf Coast.

Information about walking the Castle grounds which include Mosher, Sheldon and Boom Castles, ponds, bridges and other unique structures along with info on Fairhope will be sent to guests before they arrive.

My work: Owner/Operator Airbnb Storybook Castle
Favorite song in high school: Let it Be.
While growing up in Sheldon Castle I learned early on that the home was wonderfully close to all of downtown Fairhope and the bay. Yet, it is nestled in the woods on the edge of a gully so it feels secluded. I am a retired professional ballet dancer who until recently owned a dance studio downtown. My husband Dean is a world renown historical artists with paintings in National Parks, major universities and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum on the Mall in D.C.. Dean is also a master craftsman. We live in Mosher Castle which he built. It is right next door to Sheldon Castle and the Air BnB Suite. My sister and her husband live in the main part of Sheldon Castle which is the castle where the Airbnb suite is located. I love living surrounded by art, gardening and meeting people from all over the country and the world.
