A unique experience in a rustic sheepwagon located on a working ranch in Bluff Dale, TX. Escape the hustle & bustle of the city to the peace & quiet of the country. Meet our 2 sheepwagons: Gary and Marilyn (named after an old farmer and his wife). The sheepwagons are located inside the Tiny Home Retreat at Waumpii Creek Ranch. Please be sure to invite your friends or family to come along on your visit and stay in one of our other unique units in the Tiny Home Retreat.

The space
This is a RUSTIC EXPERIENCE. Please plan accordingly. There is no wi-fi. There is no running water inside the sheepwagon, which means there is no shower or restroom. The restroom is a custom-built outhouse (to keep with the theme of a truly rustic experience). There is a water spigot available nearby to supply you with water to drink and cook. We also have a gas grill available in the area if you prefer to cook outside. There is a small amount of electricity available in the sheepwagon for charging devices and operating lights. When we originally purchased the sheepwagon, there was a wood burning stove to provide heat. In order to better outfit the sheepwagon for the Texas weather, we have replaced the woodburning stove with a portable A/C unit. Heat is provided by a small electric heater, which is plenty of heat to keep you toasty warm on a cold Texas night!

Each sheepwagon sleeps 2 people in a double bed. A pull-out table with bench seating, heating or air conditioning depending on the season (sometimes both in the same day!), a 2-burner propane stove, and a stock of pots and pans are also available. The sheepwagons are located inside an old set of cattle working pens tucked in the middle of a grove of cedar and oak trees. The working pens include the original set of cattle working chutes dating back to the early 1970’s. In addition to the historic cattle working chute, you’ll also find these features inside this working pen area: beautiful, mature Cedar trees, rustic fencing, an old cast iron bathtub with some goldfish, flowerbeds made from old tires, water spigot, picnic table at each sheepwagon site, fire pit, outdoor gas grill, and fun lighting to create a unique experience that you won’t soon forget. We have stumps around the fireplace, but you might want to bring camp chairs for more comfortable seating.

Waumpii Creek Ranch is also home to Rafter B Tiny Homes, a professional Tiny Home building company. If time allows during your visit, be sure to stop by our shop in Bluff Dale for a peek at the other Tiny Homes in construction (by appointment only).

On your visit, you may see cattle, chickens, deer, fox, turkey, coyotes, various birds, or one of the ranch dogs: Mya, Lady, Jackson, or Shiner. In fact, you will likely be greeted by the ranch dogs when you arrive…don’t worry, they are very friendly!

Weather: Sometimes Texas can unleash some crazy weather. If inclement weather creates an unsafe scenario for Guests, you may request a change or partial cancellation of an itinerary. We will work with AirBnB to process an appropriate refund if needed.

Guest access
Sheepwagon guests are welcome to explore the property and visit the animals. Please do not enter any pens where animals are present. If you open a gate, please be sure to close it. Please do not feed the animals, including wildlife. We’ll take care of feeding the ranch animals, and we’d like to keep the wild animals wild.

Other things to note
Waumpii Creek Ranch is a working ranch. Please be cautious of the animals and always keep gates closed. Please be respectful of all property boundaries, animals, and ranch equipment. Otherwise, feel free to explore. Please do not remove any ranch equipment as we rely on this equipment to operate our ranch.

Depending on fire ban status and weather, you may be able to have a campfire in the established fire pits. Firewood is available. Please DO NOT gather wood or branches on the property to burn. There are logs around the fire pit for sitting, but you might also want to bring camp chairs.

Although we love pets, we do not allow them in our Sheepwagons or Tiny Homes due to some of our Guests with pet allergies.

NO SMOKING of any kind is allowed on the property.
