About this listing
This is a beautiful newly renovated 1br apartment on the top floor and back side of the building, offering a quiet and secluded escape from the bustling streets of New York City. The windows face out over the roof of a church and onto the city skyline with the Chrysler Building in view and no adjacent apartment windows facing you.
The apartment is located right in the middle of all the best NYC neighborhoods and on one of the best blocks. The central location provides access to Nolita, SOHO, East Village and the Lower East Side all within a couple of blocks.
If you want to go further, then jump on the subway with the F train 1/2 block away and the B/D and 6 trains 3 blocks away. You can get anywhere in the city on these lines, even to JFK, Grand Central Terminal, and Penn Station
If you want to stay close then you'll be just as comfortable. Whole Foods is 1/2 block away for all your groceries and on/around the street you have numerous excellent restaurants, coffee/juice shops, and bars (see my guidebook).

In general I am very laid back and want the place to feel like a home to anyone who stays in it. That said, a reasonable level of respect for the apartment, the building, and the neighbors is expected. Please just use good judgement and think about how you would like your place treated if someone else was staying in it. Thanks!
Max is an awesome host. He's always available to help out and answer questions. The apartment has everything you would need and the location is perfect.
Max was very courteous and checked in with us by text periodically. The place was lovely
Max is wonderful -- so friendly and accommodating! The apartment is a very comfortable one bedroom with a great kitchen and very nice bath. It is on the back side of the building, so it is very quiet. We stayed four nights and would definitely stay again!
Max's apartment is located in the perfect position, within minutes walk of the subway, restaurants and shops. We loved our experience and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the East Village area.
The apartment was impeccably tidy and organised and was well equipped with everything you will need for your stay.
The only tiny downfall to staying in Max's apartment is the stairs!! 71 steep, narrow stairs being accessed by 2 5ft women with heavy bags, was an interesting combination, especially with one of us being 5 months pregnant. However, this is one of the joys (and all part of the experience) of staying in your own Manhattan apartment.
Max was a wonderful host and assisted us in any way requested. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to providing restaurant recommendations and local knowledge in general.
If you are looking for a fantastic apartment at a reasonable price - stop looking; you have found it!
Nice apartment. Good location. Quite and clean. Max, the owner, is very nice and helpful!
Max was a great host. He was very nice, quick to respond and was great about checking in throughout the week. We would absolutely book from him again! :)
Max is a wonderful host. He is relaxed friendly and quick to get back to you if you need anything. We stayed over the holidays and even so his response time was quick.
The apartment is in a great location overall, though it can be quiet noisy at unexpected times. This might be enhanced by the fact that we stayed over New Years.
The apartment itself is essentially like it looks in the photos-it has everything you need with a full kitchen, bathroom and laundry and excellent wifi.
Some things to be aware of: there is no elevator and you have to walk up six flights of narrow stairs. The walls are thin and you can hear the neighbor on the shared wall and the upstairs neighbor who is a very heavy stomper. I advise against doing laundry at night as the machings are loud. The pipes are also extremely loud and make crackling crashing gurgling sounds at random times day or night, sometimes for an extended period of time. So be mindful of this if you are a light sleeper-I recommend ear plugs.
Overall the apartment was useful and in a great location-easily accessible to everything and Max is a helpful and accessible host who will do whatever he can to make your stay a good one.
