The appartment is ideally located in Brooklyn, near several subway lines at 10 min of Manhattan.
The appartment is nice, very clean and the bed is perfect. Bill was very helpful to accomodate us and let us get the keys right upon our arrival.
In the street, you can easily find grocery shops and restaurants.
I strongly recommend !
Our experience at Bill's place in Cobble Hill was great. He kept in contact with us throughout the entire check-in process, making sure we got in OK (he was out of town so we didn't get to meet him). Bill made us feel welcome, providing recommendations on local events & places to check out. The listing description was very accurate, and we loved the neighborhood. Super close to the F/G trains, with so much cool stuff that was nice to have nearby: Van Leeuwen creamery, Trader Joe's, Shake Shack, and more. Thanks again Bill
Very well supplied and maintained and pretty comfortable little one bedroom apartment that is very conveniently located across from a key subway connection (running to and fro Brooklyn/Manhattan) just of the corner of Smith Street and Bergen Street on the border of Cobble Hill and Borum Hill. It’s a three-flights-of-stairs walk up apartment facing and looking down upon a busy sidestreet in a five story row house that should not present a walk-up or walk-down problem for anyone in good walking shape to manage. The host is very courteous, attentive to questions and prompt about responding to requests for information, and has stocked the LR with a variety of good books (both fiction and non-fiction) and colorful old magazine issues. There is thick rugged room for exercise in the LR too. The heating unit is sufficient for the size and layout of the place in mid-winter and the shower water has never failed to be hot when required. Everthing is quite clean.
First of all, I loved the neighborhood. Reasonably quiet for Brooklyn. Coffee shops all around within walking distance. The subway is around the corner. Very convenient. The apartment was just as described online. Very neat and well organized. Had the essentials if you wanted to cook. Extra towels and sheets were available. I liked the fact it was on the fourth floor, no one above us. When I got in touch with the host for a small problem, he immediately took care of it. Will definitely go back there for my next visit.
I stayed here for 30 days and I found the apartment to be great and perfectly located too in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
When I arrived there was a bottle of whiskey waiting for me as a gift! A great start! The apartment was immaculately clean, housing loads of cool books and little trinkets like old typewriters, vintage magazines etc. No TV but who wants a TV when you're in New York? Very fast WIFI too.
The subway is 30 seconds away that will get you into Manhattan in 15 minutes or less. Countless shops and restaurants in the immediate area to keep you busy.
Bill was a great host. Fully respected my privacy but was also on hand to answer any queries I had at any time. I 100% recommend this apartment for anyone coming to NYC for a visit.
Bill made our stay very easy and enjoyable throughout. He was gracious to honor the fact that we were the first to reach out of many AirBnB'ers seeking a summer place. Bill was very accommodating, and even though he had to stop back a couple times during the 2 month stay he was very discrete and respectful.
The apartment is beautifully furnished, great natural light (the photos downplay this), and the ceilings are very high which make it feel roomy. The AC, internet, hot water, etc. presented no problems. It's on the 4th floor (walkup) but it's a nice building/staircase.
The neighborhood is totally adorable, lots of dogs and strollers but you don't need either to enjoy Cobble Hill. Very safe and convenient, laundromat across the street, Trader Joe's around the corner, little boutiques etc., right next to the F/G stop. 15 mins to Lower East Side, access to all of Brooklyn.
