This place is fabulous. Better than described - clean, well stocked, beautifully furnished. The view is amazing and there is a lot to do within just a few miles of the house. We loved the food at Monk's Lane, and the Pink Elephant is very nice as well. Edel was very accessable and helpful. Only complaint is that our stay was too short. Would love to go back.

The house and location exceeded our expectations in every way possible. The gorgeous views of the bay during the day and at night were spectacular. The house itself had every amenity that one would need at home or away on vacation. The bathrooms were immaculate! The kitchen had every tool imaginable for cooking, tea, and coffee. The washing machine and dryer were a great bonus. One tip - empty the water from the bottom of the dryer after use. That is new for Americans and not listed on the instructions. We did miss having a TV but played cards and talked to each other instead. ;) For wifi, we obtained a mobile wifi device from Vodafone and topped it off with 7g of data for 20euros. The reception, even in remote locations, was fantastic. We ate at the Pink Elephant one night and the food and service was great. Not fantastic but pretty good. They close rather early so we only used it one night. The stores in the nearest towns also close rather early (for US travelers) so we went to the larger town, Kinsale, and shopped at the SuperValu. Kinsale is a great town and very lively.

The views from this house were stunning and impossible to describe adequately. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace each night. We also found that the location was great as a home base for day trips to Kinsale, Cork, Skibereen, Mizen Head and many other places of interest. We highly recommend Harbor View. Communication with Edel and her housekeeper, Catherine, was easy and they were very responsive. Other reviews were very positive about the Pink Elephant Restaurant across the street. However, we found other restaurants in the area to be superior. Fishy Fishy and The Black Pig in Kinsale were both excellent. Monk's Lane in Timoleague was also terrific. Dillon's (also in Timoleague) was highly recommended but closed when we tried to go. Be sure to call ahead for reservations and to check open hours.

We simply could not have loved this place more. It was a beautiful setting, clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The beauty of the surroundings made our stay restful and relaxing. We didn't want to leave!! It was magnificent in every possible way. I HIGHLY recommend this Harbor View Cottage by the Sea.

Very nice house with just spectacular views of the ocean. Plenty of room for our family of 5. Edel was very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Edel's house is one of the best designed-for-location homes we've ever stayed in. Many Airbnb's are convenient, clean, friendly and comfortable, but they aren't always stunning. This one is. Amazingly, the pictures in the listing don't manage to do the view the justice it deserves. The windows of the house face East-South-East-ish and from the main bedroom, across the living room and then the kitchen the windows are set so that unobstructed view can be enjoyed. We watched the waves and weather come towards us across the ocean while cooking and reading in their comfortable, well-appointed, cozy home. The sea is not more than a hundred yards down the grassy hill in front, from which walking paths stretch in both directions along the shore. It was quite cold while we were there (early December), but the house was warm despite all of the windows. Small towns nearby provide all necessities and more. The roads in the surrounding area have little traffic, so we went on quiet, beautiful runs through what seem to mostly be farms and fields. We hope to come back before too long - can't think of a better place to enjoy time with family and books. We only used the main bedroom, but there was a second bedroom as well as a kids bedroom with bunk beds that all looked very comfortable too.

What an incredible home to have rented for our vacation. Beautiful sea side location, quiet area and great walking areas. This made our vacation, to come home at night to the sound of the ocean.
