Interaction with Guests
I check them in.
Only one block from the beach and beach access stairs where you can go walking, jogging, roller blading, or bicycling all the way down to the peninsula and back. It's not a crowded beach and a really nice experience. Also, not far away is funky 4th street with vintage mid century furniture shops, wine bars, an old restored Art Deco Theatre and some nice eateries, Number 9 (Vietnamese Noodles), and Lolas (Home made Mexican) and others. Also evenly situated between downtown Long Beach and Belmont Shore 2nd Street. There's a great new lounge bar/restaurant called Jame's Republic on 1st street in downtown that you can't miss and many cool shops and restaurants on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. Be sure to check out the beautiful houses along the canals in Naples if you have time! Naples was built in the early 19th Century by the same developers as the Venice Beach Canals in LA. A definite sight to see!
Yes public bus stops one block away on Ocean Ave and there are metro train stops in downtown Long Beach that can take you all the way to LA anywhere the metro line runs. Also, can take you to the Amtrak Line at Union Station Downtown LA where you can take the Surf Liner all the way down to San Diego and back! Beautiful up close views of the coastline and ocean from this train and fun experience!
Other Things to Note
If you are renting or bringing a car please get a small to medium size one as the opening to the garage is narrow and will not easily accommodate a large vehicle or SUV easily and you will have to park on street (no permits required), however parking is normally very difficult at the beach in the evenings in this neighborhood. The apartment comes with one covered parking space in a security garage underneath the building. Also while there is no central AC ( don't really need it most of the year due to the proximity to the beach and ocean breezes) I have recently added two portable ACs for your comfort.
Please leave shoes at the door, no smoking and no pets building, and quiet in the evenings
About the Host, Joe
Greetings! Thanks for checking out my ad and profile. My name is Joe and I am a creative professional working in landscape design and I also own a small antiques/furniture/art business here in the Los Angeles area. When not working, I can be found in a yoga class, the gym, dining in or out, relaxing at home, or traveling as I am a yogi and global nomad at heart and love to travel and meet new people any chance I get. I also teach 4 yoga classes a week and am a certified massage therapist. I enjoy spending time with close friends as well as meeting new people from all over the country and world and from all walks of life! While I am originally from the midwest my family now lives in Hawaii and my favorite places I have been in the past two years are Cuba, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, and always love visiting home as well as Miami where I soon hope to have a second place. I live behind the Hollywood Bowl so I enjoy seeing new concerts at the Bowl and also catching the latest movies. I particularly love Bollywood films. As a host, I try to create an environment for the guest that is a relaxing sanctuary from the daily stresses of an increasingly face paced world. I also tend to be quite knowledgeable of off the beaten path things to see and do and places to go in the LA area, especially in the arts as I have lived here for over 20 years since my college days. So please ask! One day I hope to combine all of my skills sets into one entity or place by creating a holistic wellness center in the mountains or near the beach in a beautiful, tranquil, exotic locale where my friends from all over the world can come visit and renew! My life motto is "Work Hard, Relax Harder! Cheers
