Casita Laurita, built in 2008, is an architectural gem centrally located on one of San Miguel’s best loved streets, Calle Loreto. Open the door to this seemingly small house in the Centro and be amazed at the gorgeous, light, airy, beautifully-appointed casita, with terrace gardens, a gourmet kitchen, and plenty of places to lounge. Two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, plus an extra napping couch/bed in the studio. A convenient base to explore all of San Miguel de Allende, you may never want to leave the house.
English and Spanish-speaking house manager will greet you, show you around, and help you out. Maid service 2x/week.
Casita Laurita was featured in the Great Homes and Destinations column of the New York Times.
Built on three stories with terraces on top, the 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath house is an easy and flat walk to the jardin, near language schools, and steps away from the town’s famous artisan market. Great cafes nearby, as well as an organic market.
The 1000-sq-ft house is Mexican modern style, built around a central courtyard, with clean design and exquisite details. The house has up-to-date amenities (iPod docks, flat-screen TV, wireless) and dreamily comfortable beds. The top terrace has a lovely 360-degree view of San Miguel and its famous Parroquia church. A second patio with lounge chairs is private and cozy, perfect for dreaming, surrounded with lavender, jasmine, and other scented potted plants.
A sunny studio with a 13-foot wooden desk makes Casita Laurita a wonderful retreat for a writer. The gourmet kitchen is a splendid spot for a cook who wants to explore Mexico’s cuisine.
As described by the owner, Casita Laurita is a jewell in Centric San Miguel de Allende. Cosy, well located, clean, nice, comfortable and with a lovely design and great attention to details Casita Laurita is an excellent choice when visiting San Miguel de Allende.
This modern home is located on a quaint block just blocks away from the center of San Miguel. Well-appointed, comfortable and close to everything. The perfect home away from home.
My husband, daughter and son-in-law, and eight-month-old granddaughter just returned from a three-night stay at Laurita's Casita in San Miguel. From the moment we entered her beautifully designed and appointed home, we were entranced. Not only were we completely comfortable there, we also felt welcomed--we were greeted by a magnificent bouquet of flowers and a plate of galletas (Mexican cookies). We heartily recommend this home away from home.
