Interaction with Guests
Mario works from home so he's more likely to be the one greeting you at the door, show you around and answer all the questions you might have. We do live in the house but conduct a very quite life.
Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of nice walks and parks and trails in the La Mesa area to explore. The La Mesa Village is a short walk to shops, stores, malls, cafes and the trolley that leads to downtown.
The Trolley is close and traveling by car is easy to jump on the freeway within a minutes from the house.
Other Things to Note
We have maps and a welcome book with information to help you get familiar with the surrounding area.
The kitchen is only to be used for preparing coffee or tea but you can bring in take-out food and enjoy it at the table inside or outside under the pergola by the garden. No loud late parties, no overnight outside guests, no recreational drugs or smoking on the property.
We really enjoyed our stay. Ken and Mario were great hosts and very welcoming in thier warm and rustic home. They were very accommodating and made sure our stay was comfortable.. Their curious and quiet Basenji's were a plus. There is great outdoor seating in shade or sunny side of thier home. A highlight is the easy walk to wonderful dining in quaint downtown La Mesa. We would recommend any travelers to the San Diego area to consider staying at what I call Casa Kenario. Sean & Martha
Vielen Dank Kenario
I had a wonderful stay at the Tranquil Craftsman. Ken and Mario are excellent hosts and their home is meticulously clean yet still cozy. The room next to the bathroom is an ideal setup, so I would ask for that one if you have the choice. La Mesa is a great location, about 20-30 minutes to everything. The dogs don't bark and there is no dog odor in the home. I highly recommend this airbnb if you're looking for a place in San Diego.
Ken and Mario are absolutely wonderful people that welcomed me into their beautiful home as if we were old friends. I was in town for work and despite my busy days, I was able to come home and fully relax. Everything was exceptionally clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The back yard was like a tropical paradise and their two dogs were perfect and sweet. I would HIGHLY recommend any of my friends, family, and/or coworkers to stay here.
Ken and Mario were wonderful and informative hosts.
The description was a draw and my stay was even better than expected. I will return.
Their house is convenient in a peaceful, quiet and lovely neighborhood.
Ken and Mario are fabulous hosts. Their home and garden are lovely and tranquil. If you are a vegetarian or vegan you must stay here because Ken is a raw food chef and he will happily share his knowledge and cooking tips with you. Mario is delightful and he taught me about Earthing and how important it is to reconnect with the ground by going barefoot and getting soil between your toes. Their dogs are very sweet and so quiet. My only regret is that I could not stay longer. :-) Highly Recommend
Ken and Mario were very accommodating and couldn't have been any more perfect for our first experience with AirBNB. They gave the best recommendations when it came to food or sight seeing and were also genuinely down to earth, easy going people to just be around.
Conversations get really interesting with Ken and Mario so don't be surprised if you're up till about 11pm talking with them with just about anything that sparks a conversation. They'll give you as much privacy as you need and will go out of their way to help you on your short stay. There's also plenty of parking, and privacy, plus you're also close enough to freeways and plenty of great places to eat and sight see.

My husband Mario is from Italy and we are going on 17 years together and we're having the time of our lives. He is a theatrical entertainer and we work on shows and performances together. Mario is also a dancer and has performed on television and in theaters across Italy and the United States. His performing has taken us to other countries such as Mexico, Greece, Japan and Sweden.
I am also a photographer and painter and have created a body of work that combines both of those worlds. Our Art has also taken us around the world in search of beautiful patterns and compositions. Our online sites are (website hidden) and (website hidden).
Mario and I have traveled a lot over the years and we enjoy meeting people from other worldly cultures. Life is meant to be experienced in a way that involves connecting with people and it's those interactions that make it exciting, enriching and entertaining.
We are extremely happy and healthy.
