We had a great time staying at this apartment. It is very cozy, clean, and perfect for two couples. All the attractions were in walking distance, and the street is very quiet with restaurants, cafes, and a grocery store nearby. As the description mentioned, it is a top floor walk-up, but it wasn't an issue for us. Daniela and Francesco were both very friendly, helpful, easy to reach hosts.
The apartment is nice and conveniently located. However, there were several things that concerned us:
-its on the top floor with no elevator (which is nice for the balcony, but not when you are climbing all those stairs)
-there is no air conditioning
-the shower in the main bathroom is weird and after each shower the floor is covered in water
-the smaller bathroom, like the rest of the house, is packed with the family's stuff.
-The pictures of the apartment depict a minimally decorated home, but when we arrived the house was packed with the family stuff, from kids toys, to clothes, jewelry and other personal items. Even the refrigerator had food in it. The house was so full of the owner's stuff that my friends and I joked that we would come back to the house one day and find the family there.
-The bedroom gets super hot.
Overall we enjoyed our stay because we made the best of it. The place was nice and convenient, but the owner's need to be honest about the state of the apartment (top floor, packed with their personal stuff, hot in the bedroom, etc).

The apartment is close to the center and to the Fortezza at the 3rd floor, with no lift, no air conditioning no working light in the dining zone and no shower curtain in the bathroom. The bedroom under the roof becomes a oven and definetely useless during the warm season (we had to sleep on the couch-bed). The flat is full of the owner belongings so that you don't have any room left to put yours. Even the fridge was full. Mainly, it felt like they were forced to leave the house in a hurry... I'd love to be in a real home, that's why we choose Airbnb, but this was a little too much. I think that you can easily find something better in Florence.
Thanks Francesco! Great stay in a part of town away from the busy-ness! We loved the view of the Duomo from the toilet window and did lots of cooking with produce from the central market and the little alimentari downstairs. Cafe Raneri was perfect for breakfast. Ciao!
I stayed at Daniela's and Francesco's apartment for 6 days in May 2013. The apartment is very cosy and comfortable. It's very central and close to all the major sights in Florence. Francesco had very good advice re restaurants. It's on the third floor with no lift so the stairs may be an issue (48 steps) We got used to them after a couple of days. The shower took a while to negotiate without getting the floor to look like a minor lake. In all it's a very nice place though with all the amenities and very quiet. I'd recommend it and i would stay there again.
We never talked to Daniela - only her husband Francesco. The apartment feels like you're living in Florence rather than a tourist, with its courtyard views of the rooftops and balconies. 2 words of caution - this apartment is on the top floor and there are 4-5 flights of stairs. Also there is no shower curtain so you will be mopping up a soaking wet floor every time someone showers. They need to add a shower curtain. Other than that the apartment is great. We slept on the futon on the first floor rather than the bed in the loft and it was comfortable. The satellite TV can be switched to other languages including English if you're homesick. The washer/dryer were great. Location is also great for a tourist. If they installed a shower curtain I'd stay here again.
