  • Q was an excellent host and his apartment in DUMBO was clean, cozy, comfortable and funky!

Upon arriving he gave us a tour of the apartment, a run down on the local area and a 'See and Do' list.

His kitchen was well equiped for making some home cooked meals, the bed was comfortable and the night was quiet for sleeping. The York St metro was only a short walk away and one stop from Manhattan. DUMBO is an awesome neighbourhood and perfect for watching the sunset behind Brooklyn Bridge.

The doormen and neighbours were very friendly.

Thanks again Q! We would love to stay in DUMBO - and your place again.

  • Q's apartment is very cozy and super located, DUMBO is a very nice and quite neighborhood, near to the river, to the brooklyn and Manhattan bridges and to the waterfront from where you have amazing views of Manhattan. Nice bars and art gallerys can be find around the corner. Very safe place. There are subway stations nearby, one just around the corner and the other 2 mins walk and you are conected with the main subway lines to go everywhere.

We just meet Q the day we arrived but he was very nice from the begining, is a great host, he let us the apartment clean, with breakfast stuff in the fridge and a great list of nice places, restaurants and things to do all around NY. I recomend his place, if you want to have a great holiday in NY and are looking for a place to relax after a long day hanging around the city, Q's place is the option. Thank you so much !! :)

  • Kiumars was very very helpful and solicitous toward me, making sure that I got to his apartment and had access despite lots of flight delays on my part. He has a very cute little place that was clean and comfortable and very convenient to the F subway transit line and to the restaurants and other attractions of Dumbo.

  • Kiumars was a great host....we had a great time staying at his place. He was very sweet and informative and gave us great directions to all the transportation. He also checked up on us in the middle of our trip to see if everything was okay which was really nice of him. Last time we visited New York we stayed in a 5 star hotel and his place was 100 times better. It was very clean and I loved the decor. His building felt very safe and overall the DUMBO area was really great too. He's inspired me to become a better host as well :) Will definitely stay at his place if we visit NY again.

  • Kiumar was a really good host! He sent us emails before getting there giving us directions and then recommending us nice places that are not usually in guides. The apartment is exactly as it appears on the pictures, really nice, clean and we had everything we needed in order to make our week a perfect one. He would text us back really quickly whenever we needed and was really flexible with out check out. We had a great time in New York, and we would love to go back to his flat, we fell in love with the neighborhood and having Brooklyn Bridge so close was amazing. Thanks for everything and see you hopefully soon!!

  • We have stayed in Amiri's apartment for 10 days with my girlfriend. It was a TERRIBLE and FRUSTRATING experience. I don't know where to start.. Sheets and towels Amiri left for us claiming they are clean were dirty, we have been obliged to struggle with COCKROACHS and a MOUSE in apartment.. There was a gas smell around kitchen all the time. Building is very old and tacky and it's being runned as prison, there was a main door where we enter the building hall and it's locked after 1:00AM, we had to wake doorman up to be able to get in apartment after 1:00AM(!).

Amiri himself also extremely vulgar person. The day we noticed there's a MOUSE in apartment was the day Amiri is going to visit his apartment to get something but when we let him know about MOUSE he decided to not come and did not care about MOUSE, we had to stay somewhere else at last two days of our visit due to conditions I mentioned above.

While checking out, he told us to check out rapidly before the cleaning lady comes and not to linger in apartment we did that and we forgot to take trash out, for that he THREATENED us and left our phones a voice-mail full of CURSING words while he's the reason for us to not take trashes out.

As a conclusion of my experience; DISGUSTING apartment and TERRIBLE host! I definetely recommend people of airbnb to stay away from him and his listings.

    Response from Kiumars Q.:

I am only responding to this because Airbnb has not been able to effectively resolve this issue as a mediator.
Sab, you are still too young, and must learn how to be respectful of other people and their space. I have never had any problem with any of my previous guests or hosts.
For other peoples' reference, I'll just restate the review that I had left on your page weeks before you submitted the false review above:
"Let me start with: his girlfriend left all of her used (bloody) female pads in the bathroom. Extremely, no let me rephrase that, disgustingly dirty guests. I walked into my apartment after him and his girlfriend had stayed there for 10days, only to see the place literally trashed with garbage all over the place. Dry and wet trash was everywhere. The bathtub had huge sticky black stains, there were dried wine glasses and tea/coffee cups left out (some molded), and the kitchen was full of dirty dishes. Neighbors and doorman commented to me this morning. I dont understand how a person cannot have ANY sense of respect for others and live in such conditions. TERRIBLE guest. Shame on you Sabri."

  • Q's place was Awesome! Perfect size, minimalist decor, very practical setup. The apartment is situated really close to all the best places in DUMBO, a great neighborhood. Wifi was available, great flat screen TV & the kitchen was ideal. Thanks Q!

  • Kiumar was absolutely fantastic! Before we even got into the city, he gave us tons of tips on where to go explore, places to see and eat and a detailed map to where the apartment actually was. Very helpful stuff for someone who's never been to New York, like me! He kept contact all throughout the trip, left us with clean EVERYTHING and even bought us breakfast stuff. Excellent host, great place and I would definitely recommend both!

About
Young professional live and work in NYC, with a background in architecture and city planning. I always have travel plans coming up. Very easy going, organized, outgoing, part-time serious and part-time comic, honest and straightforward. I am not a big fan of chain hotels/restaurants, so I am always seeking to explore local places to stay, experience neighborhood restaurants and bars, and make new friends. One of my most favorite activities is to just walk around and observe the city's public spaces for hours.
