About This Listing
This beautiful and spacious Garden apartment takes up an entire floor of our 1880s brownstone. It has its own backyard which is great for summertime bbqing. The backyard/garden is shared with me and my family - if you plan to have an event in the backyard please contact me ahead of time to coordinate.
Our building is only two to three stops from Manhattan via the 4, 5, and F trains, and a couple of stops from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Compare this to other Brooklyn apartments that are half an hour or more from Manhattan. We are also only steps away from Pier 6 where you can hop on a water taxi into the city or Governor's Island, play some beach volleyball or walk down the promenade. Easy access to Grocery stores for food shopping and other daily amenities as well.
Cobble Hill is a great neighborhood bordering Brooklyn Heights and Carroll Gardens - all of which are filled with quaint and award winning restaurants (Sushi, Thai, Irish pubs, Americana you name it), shops, French cafes and parks. Admire the 1800s architecture as you stroll through this historic neighborhood - you may even decide to spend the day exploring this area rather than venture into Manhattan.
The apartment has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress top, a comfortable gigantic sofa that is large enough to seat 4-5 or sleep one comfortably, two brand new LCD TVs with DirecTV, a kitchen with stainless steel range and new cookware, original hardwood floors. We know you will enjoy your stay here with us!

Our first time using Airbnb and our first time visiting NYC... couldn't have been better! Keow welcomed us with the brightest smile and the friendliest face, and the apartment was clean, neat and very well-equipped. It's quite a walk to the nearest subway station but that allowed us to explore Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens nearby. The neighbourhood is family-friendly, lively and very safe. Lots of good food too. Keow was also very helpful in answering any questions we had, and calling a car service to LGA for us as we had no call service from our phones. She even waited with us at 4AM for the car! Thanks Keow for the wonderful experience. We certainly hope to return one day!
We stay'd at Keow's in the beginning of May for 8 days. We had a fantastic time in New York and enjoyed our stay in the appartment. The appartment was clean and spacious and exactly how it looked on the pictures.
Keow was very welcoming and kind.
It was quite a walk from the subway but it was nice to walk through the nice area and it was good to stay in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan (where it's very busy). Nearby you've got a great view overlooking Manhattan. We've enjoyed our stay.
Keow made us feel very welcome without being intrusive, and gave us helpful advice. The apartment was perfect: nice size bedroom, a lounge and a kitchen diner, which was well equipped. Everything was very clean and tidy. There were a generous number of towels. There were a couple of problems with the heating but Keow sorted those quickly. The location is excellent: there is a supermarket 5 minutes away and several restaurants and bars close by. It is a short walk to the nearest subway and only 20 minutes into Manhattan. We would definitely want to stay here again.
Hi Mark! Thanks for the nice review :). Somehow my previous guest turned off the radiator valve which create the loud noise, i turn it back on and the problem was solved. The room still got too hot when the heat is on, i am going to remove the radiator in the room and replace to a smaller one in (website hidden) was a pleasure hosting you and Gill. Please keep us in mind the next time you come to New York again!
My husband, son and I stayed for a week in Keow's apartment during January. Keow was an extremely gracious and helpful host.
The location was perfect for us to visit with our other son living in Carol Gardens and to explore Brooklyn. We had easy access to the subway which we used to go all over Manhattan and to go to restaurants in Queens and Brighton Beach.
Even tho it was freezing outside we were warm and cozy in the apartment and had enough room to host our family for breakfast. We look forward to returning soon.
Keow is very responsive and helpful and the place is warm, comfortable and very clean. It was the second time my parents stayed with her and they will certainly be back!
This was our first Airbnb experience and Keow made it a fabulous one! She is so hospitable and was very willing to accommodate our schedule. The apartment was very clean and well-appointed. Location was perfect for us and only about a 10 minute walk to the subway. Keow is an excellent host and the apartment is wonderful (plus satellite TV and WIFI) - totally met and even exceeded our expectations!
Keow was friendly and very quick to respond to any communication. The apartment was wonderful - in a charming residential neighborhood - very convenient to a large array of restaurants and grocery stores. Keow provides a number of helpful maps and menus. We are from a very rural area, so we heard the traffic, but the fan made white noise and we were able to sleep well. The bed was incredibly comfortable. She was flexible and agreeable to add our adult son to the reservation. The back yard was a bonus - we enjoyed our coffee there each morning. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
About the Host, Keow
I've owned my home in Brooklyn since 1996, and this is my first foray into AirBnb. I'm a former restaurateur and chef. I'm friendly, easygoing and looking forward to making connections on AirBnb.
