Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.

Mountain view

Guests say the views are lovely.
Perfect for mountain bikers, small groups, and small families, this modest budget-minded home with wi-fi is perfect for hiding away and working on your trail skills, art, writing, etc. Furnished with cozy decor, original local art, & books, the home offers guests an unbeatable sunrise over Mt. Nebo.

This property is in the beginning stages of long-term food forest projects. Come take a tour to meet the animals and see what we're growing!

The space
This property is located on ancestral lands of the Osage people. We believe in the importance of the revitilization of the Osage language and cultural traditions. A small percentage of your fee is returned to the Osage Nation through our regular donations to the Daposka Ahnkodapi Elementary school, a cultural immersion school in Pawhuska, Oklahoma run by the Osage Nation.

You spoke and we listened. The house has given numerous upgrades! We still have a few more things on the list to upgrade (mainly floors and ceiling) but the place feels like new! Peaceful country 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, amazing mountain view, distraction free. Numerous sleeping spaces (can sleep up to approximately seven), many places to sit to meet or relax, write (including a desk), etc.

One bedroom is carpeted, while the rest of the house has original linoleum "tile", laminate flooring, or concrete. The bedrooms and living room have room darkening curtains. Plenty of effective heating and cooling options.

Guests also have full access to a covered, outdoor fire pit area. (Wood can be purchased nearby, ask for details if curious!)

Our cycling friends may also use bike maintenance stand and provided tools. COMING SOON!: Secure options for bike storage, hanging and cleaning.

Guest access
Full house access, easy parking in gravel/dirt driveway, located on dirt road.

Other things to note
Let us know if you'd like to take a peak at what we're growing next door (leave your pets at the house, though) like enormous amaranth plants, sunflowers, and birdhouse gourd vines. Come pick some raspberries or blueberries for your breakfast. Rows of basil, buckwheat, zinnias and more depending on the season. Sit and watch our 30+ laying chickens and ducks, and let us know if you'd like to feed them some scratch. You can also check out the rabbits and give the donkey Jenna and mini-horse Ziggy some love. They’re very sweet and will eat out of your hand.

This land has been passed down in our family and we are the current caretakers. This is the rightful land of the Osage peoples, and a portion of your fee is returned to the Osage Nation via the Daposka Ahnkodapi Elementary, the Osage Nation Language Immersion School, located in Pawhuska, OK.

Yell County (and neighboring Pope County) are both dry counties. If you wish to bring alcoholic beverages to the Juniper House, we recommend stopping at Arka Valley Liquor in Blackwell, Arkansas if you are coming from the Little Rock on Hwy 40. The New Blaine General Store is also an option and a fun forest drive from here to there.

Please Note: The May House is a simple, no-frills house that was built in the early 1980s. The inside has been remodeled modestly in the last few years but still has a few areas of opportunity. Namely the windows and old floors. Please be patient while we make plans to continue the renovation of this great house!

Need room enough for a big trip? We have a second location just 1 minute walk away. Book both! https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/41813249?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=08e402a8-dc76-4d94-a2a7-043463cc22ea
