Grand reopening with newly remodeled kitchen!
Come and experience the real Portland. From the comfort of our 1907 house, it's an easy hop to just about everywhere!
There's easy access to bus and train lines, bike around town, or just stroll the Alberta Arts district - there's a park with a playground just up the street, and our Walk Score is 86. There's plenty of free street parking in our neighborhood, so your car will have a great place to sleep too.
Ordered too much food at one of Portland's 10,000 great restaurants? Come in through your own private entrance, and pop your swan-shaped tinfoil creations into the refrigerator. When you feel hungry again, there's a full kitchen complete with pots and pans, microwave, coffee maker, and all the dishes and utensils you'll need. Tucked into the nook in the back you'll find a washer and dryer, so you don't have to pack your entire wardrobe.
Looking for a quiet evening in? The cozy living room features an electric fireplace, a bookshelf stocked with light reading, and an entertainment system with a flat screen TV and DVD player. We even have some a Wii and some games for you, and a Netflix streaming account you can access through the Wii.
Feeling sleepy? The bedroom features a king-size bed with a memory foam pad, soft sheets, and a down comforter, and the sofa in the living room converts to a full-size bed. Have a crowd? No problem: there are two cots in the closet. Young kids? No problem! We have a pack-and-play, a high chair, and a full-size bath tub.
When you wake up, you'll probably be hungry again. Feel free to eat your leftover pizza, but we'll also have micro-roastery coffee and breakfasty items for you. There are a couple great grocery stores within a mile, so you can stock our kitchen with all your favorite foods, and cook while you are here, if you feel so inclined.
Everything you find in the apartment is for our guests to use. You will have your own unique code to get into your apartment; no keys to keep track of and carry around. Be advised that our little family lives upstairs, and the floors aren't made of soundproofed concrete, but we do our best to keep quiet.
Whenever we travel, we like to manage our own time, so we give you lots of space to do your own thing. You have your own entrance, so we can avoid those awkward half-conversations. If you'd like to chat, feel free to come find us. We both work from home, so are around most of the time.
Our neighborhood is great, there are SO many fantastic restaurants and great shopping areas and several monthly community events! We are within a quick walk to both the Alberta Arts District and North Williams St. Just a bit further out is N. Mississippi Avenue. The apartment is also just a short 2 miles up the road from the Convention Center and Rose Quarter. A quick bus ride whisks you there! If you have pets or kids, there's a park just a 1/2 block away where they can expend some of that energy.
If you want to go somewhere else, there's a bus stop about 100 yards away, and from there it's a quick hop to MAX. If you have your bike, we are right along one of the major Portland bike-ways.
Let us know if you need a late or early check-in or -out, and we'll try to make it work.
We love our house. Please, no smoking.
Very nice place! Hosts were very responsive! Neighborhood was fun to explore! We would return :)
This was one of the best places I've ever stayed at through AirBnB. Ben and Becky were great hosts, and they have put a lot of thought into making their apartment extremely comfortable and accommodating for their guests. The apartment was far above average in terms of appointments, the furniture, bed, linen, towels, kitchen supplies - everything - was all of the quality you would have in your own home, or better. We stayed for a month and were very glad we chose this place over other options. The location is great, in a quite neighborhood close to both Alberta and Williams Streets with tons of bars and restaurants, and less than 10 minutes by car from the central Portland districts like the Pearl and 23rd avenue. The apartment is a downstairs unit, but noise was from upstairs was never an issue. This apartment is in a great location, has fantastic, thoughtful, hosts, and has everything you could need and more, I would love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone considering it.
My cat and I lived in this apartment for seven months while my own house was being renovated. The location is great. It is a small apartment, but more than sufficient for one person. For shorter stays, two or even three people would be fine. It gets a surprising amount of sunlight for a basement flat. I had only minor issues during my stay, and all of them were addressed quickly. Ben, Becky and the kids and dogs are very quiet.
The reservation was canceled 48 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed in Ben and Becky's apartment for 4 nights and it really felt like home. They have everything you could want in a kitchen (appliances, cereal, milk, bagels, fruit, juice) bathroom (lots of towels, extra soap, extra everything else). The apartment felt brand-new and is just super comfortable. Our interaction with them was minimal, but Ben greeted us as we arrived, showed us the layout and left us to it. They even left us a nice bottle of beer which was perfect after a long drive. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay- very clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Nice area for walking to restaurants and public transit just around the block for getting all around the city. If you are inclined to stay in and do your own cooking, the kitchen is well equipped and very nice. They seem to have thought of everything a visitor might want.
Our stay at the Alberta Arts district apartment was perfect. My daughter, her friend and I were very comfortable in the space. it was large enough for 3 to 4 people. The apartment was stocked with waters, juices, milk, bagels, teas and coffees. We didn't need a thing. It was spotless and clean.
The bus was one block down the street, and the Arts district was a short walk away. We ate at a few wonderful restaurants, all a short walk to Alberta St.
The neighborhood is very safe and I went out most mornings early for a run down Prescott St. When Prescott runs into 15th St. there is a wonderful coffee shop and a nice brewery/restaurant that also serves breakfast.
The Apartment is a basement apartment and the family lives above it. They were very quiet and didn't intrude on us in any way.
I would stay there again the next time I am in town. It was a pleasure.
We are a thirty-something software engineer and photographer from Portlandia with two precocious kids and two adorable pugs. We love to explore new places, avoid the beaten path, and be adventurous when we travel. Also when we don't.
